I have been playing a Conjurer, pet-centric naturally - so far I maxed out the Hellhound and Briarthorn, and got the Eldritch Hound and Og’Napesh’s Revenant to help me out too, doing Epic now at level 61.
But, unlike my Nature/Dream beastmaster in Titan Quest, I sadly have little direct way to heal my pets, apart from Blood of Dreeg and some passive Shaman auras. I miss the multi-target healing spell from Titan Quest - but this spell isn’t gone from the game. I noticed Groble Shaman’s using a red lightning-like spell that heals multiple Grobles…
So, I wonder if we could get maybe a monster infrequent Rare item, a helmet or an effigy, that could grant us this skill. Or maybe as a Devotion skill? I feel it would be pretty useful for a Conjurer, especially now on Epic where due to reduced resistances I do not like to run into the fray with my pets that much anymore.
Targeted heals do not work nicely in GD as they did in TQ, sadly
In my TQ mod I had to rework regrowth (and energy/heatshield, and herbal remedy, probably another as well) because you CANNOT target yourself with these spells anymore due to some targeting changes Crate did. You can barely even target pets, you have to ctrl+click instead… it’s very annoying to play with.
I know you’re not asking for a mod, but just saying, certain limitations prevent it from being a viable option for mods or normal gameplay unless it was on an autocast controller…
Blood of Dreeg + a Touch of Purity ought to keep your pets topped off pretty well.
Edit: @ASYLUM: Correct me if I’m wrong but doesn’t the groble shaman heal heal the shaman as well as the shaman’s targets? So technically we could copy/paste that into a skill, ctrl+click on a pet, and heal everyone, no?
Only if you get lucky… it’s not a guaranteed heal. It’s a chain heal with 3 targets, if you have more than 3 pets (and you’re sitting faaar away) you probably won’t get healed. Can always change the # of targets but still, it’s clunky as hell to play with and if you are really low and need a heal, can’t target yourself, gotta target a pet and hope for the best.
I don’t mind if it doesn’t heal your character - I mean, that’s not what I want the spell for. And heck, the game sure does multi-targeting spells, we have chain lightning-like enemy Aether skills -same could work for heals. And yeah, if it works for the shamans, it would work for you too.
Ceno - well, the game is a lottery. I got the Savage Relic, for example, but am missing the Mistborn Talisman that would let me make the relic. So I cannot rely on an item I might or might not get.
