Counter Strike feedback

Hi all!

I tried Counter Strike for testing with my cadence dualwield Blademaster. The skill was lvl 20 and even at that lvl the skill was barely doing any damage except to white bees. That’s whit Break Morale maxed and casted on them.

There are some things I didn’t like about it.

  1. Obviously the damage
  2. The proc chance which was 22% at lvl 20
  3. The Range. the range combined with its low damage make it worst.

My suggestion?

  1. Making the skill a Dot proc for bleeding and Internal trauma damage
–> Removing the physical damage to replace it for Internal trauma damage.
  2. Making the range up to 4.5 meter. Scaling the range like the dev did with Callidor’s Tempest would be awsome! Which means the range gets bigger as the skill gets higher lvl.
  3. Increasing the proc chance up to 35-40% in high ranks.

The skill is bad and should deal much mor edamage at higher levels.

Also the name counterstrike would imply you counter your enemy and strike them with your weapon so I think it should deal % of weapon damage too. It would make sense and increase it’s damage.

I think it should be like Nightblade’s Ring of Steel. Range and animation included.

My question is, “when-hit” skills proc, do they take a unit of time that could otherwise be used for another action, or do they act parallel to existing action? If it’s the former, the attack should be worth something of the investment.

% weapon damage might become way to good combined with the stat ‘‘Damage converted to health’’

The skill proc without stoping your own attacks.

I think as Crixus said to make Counterstrike good adding % weap dmg would be the way. It might be strong with % dmg coverted to life but there is always the possibility to increase the cd of the Counterstrike to compensate for the increased dmg.

Balancing it that it wont be op for 2h weapon user is another story. It could be weapon and shield dmg for 1h shield users and main and offhand for dual wield users to even it out. There would be a lower % weap dmg on the skill of course to not make it to strong.

If the Skill would for example start at 50% weap dmg and scale to 90% weap dmg on level 20 and have a 2 sec cd to compensate for the higher dmg you would actually get a strong proc for the points invested.

As Counterstrike is right now i would prob call it a dead skill not even worth 1 point even if you got alot of + skill for it.
