Counter strike mechanics

So counter strike has a proc chance for a cooldown AoE with: % weapon damage, physical damage, and bleed. But the description also mentions these effects

  1. % retaliation added to attack
  2. physical damage retaliation
  3. +% retaliation damage

How do these three effects work? Are they always active when counter strike is active? It doesn’t really make sense for them to be proced.

As Far as i observed it with my Chars:

  1. adds % of your retaliation to the proc of the skill (not your weapon attack)
  2. retaliation that is always there aslong as the skillbuff is there independent of the proc being triggered.
  3. same as 2.

can you elaborate more?

so when it proc it deals aoe dmg (like demo vindicative flame/ inquisitor seal?)
buff the skill itself with more retaliation dmg etc? (while the buff is on?)


It works like Vindictive Flame - it’s a toggle skill that gives your character some passive stat buffs (like the Physical Retaliation damage and % Retaliation damage) and has a chance to cause damage in a nova when you’re hit by an attack.
