Create the world games really are a hit.

I’d like to see more involvement with the fact that there’s a quest to collect fabric, to help evolve the prison. And there should be more involvement with the people we save during our adventures, however…
how to evolve this system I’m not sure,
maybe a Silkroad type trading type system?

i think they need a tech upgrade for that to work well because right now

*Map objects like walls, floors, lamps etc can be added/removed via script.

*There is no concept of fixed x y z coordinates that can be managed via lua. coordinates can only be acquired by referring to existing objects.

*You can only add remove if you are replacing something that is already “drawn” or rather “cooked” into the map already. This means that you can only reference existing coordinates of stuff that is on the map

this is why we got the gimmicky versions of it in-game . ie. adding tent coverings etc… instead of complete overhauls of areas.

id love for an API that lets us generate maps using .lua , including terrain and objects and spawn points. the game needs random dungeon generation badly.

I feel ya Davood. But do you really think that’s going to happen when any serious mention of GD2 involves 1 of 2 options both considered easier than your option?

  1. Build a new engine from scratch or the more likely option…
  2. License one of the shiny pimp-mobile engines ready made (or made enough).

Personally I’d like to see them cough up and forge their own path but I guess I wouldn’t blame them for taking the easy way out.

Anyway, I’d be pleasantly surprised if they went all in on giving GD1 a Maury Povich makeover but somehow I just don’t believe it.
