Crucible broke main campaign?

I want to tell my personal experience.

I have played 125 hours with 2 characters, I play single-player with one of them and with a real-friend with the another one. Both of them are around level 60 and close to finish Elite. The game was being very very very fun.

Then, I bought Crucible 2 days ago. I started to explore it and after some single tries, I started to join public games. I was really amazed about the speed of gaining experience, iron bits and items. I need about 1 or 2 hours playing very well in main campaign to level up from 60 to 61 and if I play bad I loose more exp than I win. However, doing “die 80 100” runs I leveled up 7 levels in 3 hours without any effort. Also, I won 900k iron bits in single-player in 50-60 hours and 3kk in 5-6 hours in Crucible. Finally, i did two runs up to 150 in challenger and the amount of legendaries was CRAZY xDD.

Then, i tried to start Ultimate with my fresh leveled up nightblade (from 60 to 68 in few hours in Crucible) and I saw it was IMPOSSIBLE. I felt I leveled up so fast that my gear didn’t improve as well as monsters in Elite/Ultimate. Now I feel that I’m trapped in Crucible until I’m level 85 and I have decent gear to face Ultimate.

And I also feel that the main campaing lost some excitement because in Crucible the game seems to be easier and faster to achieve endgame.

This is not really a complain about Crucible, only I want to read your opinions about my personal condition. I’m a newbie yet, I need to play endgame to see the complete game.

But… do you think that classic endgame like Diablo 2 (endless runs to boss etc) is still effective with the existance of Crucible?

Thank you for your time

Personally for me Grim Dawn is about the game and not some mythical “End game” content.

But

Yes totally

The hurdle from Elite to Ult is just that big and takes some time to get used to.
It’s not because of Crucible, if anything those runs gave you better items than you would’ve gotten in the campaign.

So… Then Ultimate is a challenge and not just like the change from Veteran to Elite?

I would like that, maybe i need to farm in elite before to face Ult

Normal is to see the world

Elite is to actually understand some mechanic (how important resistance is for exemple and how DA/OA impact your defense and offense)

Ultimate is to test your build, Ultimate is there to make or break a build and if it doesn’t break it then you face Nemesis

Basically you leeched from other players joining games you wouldn’t even be able to create yourself. You went back to playing the main story and got spanked which should be telling you how much you were leeching in crucible.

Crucible is a bit broken in that the rewards for just dying are are too high and allow a party to sustain 80-100 die farms. Quick and easy items and money from crucible make the main game easier not harder, the only real down side is lack of faction rep which means you can’t buy faction items and you do need them for ultimate.

I don’t think so.
I get more fun playing main campaign.
Usually I play crucible to get first 5 devotions on a new chars or if a friend want to try.

I play main campaign 90% of the times, i find crucible a bit boring.

I will agree there

Crucible is fun for

The quick Devotion point to start up (some character see a HUGE improvement by having those five point. They ain’t needed but that extra 5 when you get to Homestead oftens mean A LOT) (I even did 10 last time around but 5 is what I will be doing most of the time)

It is also fun for a 2-3 man party run. Something you decide to jump in one evening do 100-150 + the reset and call it a night it take what 1 hour to do everything and bring it valuable loots afterwards back to Campaign anyway once you have most of the legendary farming those MI is probably faster in Vanilla than in Crucible (except for Nemesis Shoulder but I never seen Warrant in Crucible…)
