I’ve made a new char and after beating the campaign on normal difficulty I jumped into the Crucible on Aspirant difficulty to unlock the higher difficulty settings.
However, it doesn’t seem to work:
Started on wave 100 and beat 110 without dying. Nothing got unlocked.
Tried 150 to 160. Nothing unlocks.
Also tried 50 to 60. Nothing unlocks; not even the extra spawn option.
It’s the first time I’m playing Crucible since the changes of 1.2.1.3, but I was under the impression that starting and beating wave 100 should still unlock Challenger. Do I need to start at 0 and then beat 100? That’s going to be boring as my character is already able to beat 150+ quite easily…
I tested 51-100, and you’re right. Thank you Zantai for clearing that up.
I was confusing the numbers; it obviously doesn’t start on wave 0. The menu options misled me.
I’ve renamed and moved this thread to Ideas & Feedback instead.
A few ideas / improvements that would help the Crucible’s new format (1.2.1.3+):
Make waves 110 & 160 also unlock the next difficulty, since that proves the player could certainly beat 100 and is ready for a bigger challenge. Otherwise, the game just forces the player to beat 51-100 which is boring & unrewarding very low-level content for a char who’s already powerful enough to start in Challenger or above.
Make waves 110 & 160 also unlock the extra spawn
The menu options should say “Start on wave 51”, “Start on wave 101”, etc, to avoid confusion (like my confusion at the start of this thread)
I know players could just use a merit, but this is still an issue for veterans playing SSF / newbies making their first char.
Thank you Crate for the continuous improvements to this magnificent game.
