I’ve only done one run through so far and only built the first level fire tower. I hung around it (ranged caster) and it seemed ok taking out the trash and a little help on bosses.
I was just curious what other people though of the towers? Seems like the healing/DA boost tower could be useful. The game guide says the ice tower “freezes all enemies”. I assume the bosses are still immune to freezing though? Same thing with the stun from the lightning tower…
ok…so besides that fact you don’t like that they are only good for one play through, how did they actually function for you in that play through? Which one(s) did you use?
They seem to only function at very close range and don’t seem to be all that powerful to be honest. The procs and devotion abilities on my 2H Elementalist take care of trash much quicker than those are helpful.
I ran through most of challenger last night a 2nd time after getting repeatedly assblasted late in it and didn’t use turrets the second time around, honestly didn’t notice much a of a difference. Was using 2x Vanguard + 2x Stonewall, not upgraded though.
Freeze tower is busted btw, a few people posted about it targeting their character xD
The damage towers seem a little weak to me, they can’t even one shot a simple skeleton past wave 100. I did try the freeze effect from the upgraded ice tower, it works but it’s not very impressive.
The stonewall tower has a nice heal, might save you at some point, and it adds a few % of DA. That’s the only one I really use, I try to save tributes to restart at wave 130.
I was trying to find some post where we can see the numbers… maybe someone should do it. Type of towers, damage, range, attack speed, healing numbers etc…
none of the towers are working as intended atm. i’m wondering if they playtested them lol. but i trust they will be patched in the hotfix
you still have to do it in one shot correct? i only have the option to restart at checking point with tribute if it’s the same play session. if i quit and restart i have to start from wave 1.
Your stuff is saved per crucible (5 of them, each map is counted its own setup), per difficulty. So there is a total of 15 different sets of crucibles to have set up.
I don’t get it. Is it possible to start at a higher wave in a fresh session ? If so, do you have to be in the same arena you previously were (when for exemple you completed the 150 waves) ?
You can pay tributes to start at waves 50 , 100 once you have beaten that wave, there are also checkpoints per session where you can restart again by paying tributes
Just tested in Aspirant difficulty where i have completed 150 waves. Lokkar doesn’t propose me to start to wave 50 or 100 nor to rise the stakes. Only one conversation available: “I am ready to begin.” I don’t get it how are you supposed to jump right at the beginning to wave 50 or 100…or is it a bug for me ?
Edit : Seems like this is not available on Aspirant difficulty. But in Challenger I get the possibility to raise the stakes but i do not get the possibility to have an extra spawn every session, that’s the part i do not understand.
not sure if its intendet to be so but you have to reach the checkpoints on every map(and in every difficulty) to start at wave 50 or 100.
f.e. if you finished the crucible of the dead and unlocked all the checkpoints you have to finish in the crucible of sands to have the checkpoints there aswell.
Oooh there is the explanation. Well i find that system a bit annoying. Sure the areas are different and the results may vary from one to another but thinking that you have to begin from wave 1 on another area, i’d restart the session again and again until i got the one i completed instead of grinding again… But oh well it’s about measuring your character’s strength and not about getting loot so that justifies it. Hope to see some changes.
Thanks for the explanation koenigaslan.
Has anyone confirmed this in game? I saw the option to pay during the same play session but even after cashing out on wave 90 my next game gave no option other than restart at level 1.
Do you talk to a different NPC to do it? I was talking to the same guy who offered same-session checkpoint.
but the crucibles are random lol… so how do you make a new game and continue? oversight?
RE: “long range tower” feels like melee range, fire and lightning towers sometimes don’t fire, and enemies have to be dragged on top of them for them to activate. they also don’t seem to scale. Vanguard is good- the defensive stuff seems to work great. it’s the offensive towers mainly that are the issue.
