Crystallum or Stormheart?

Which of these 2 swords would be better for a DW Savagery build?

Also, just how important is Storm Touched normally and with Ultimate levels?

I think 1 crystallium is ok. It give about 50+% reduce stun duration(which is 1 is enough because 80% cap). The rest is what you like to use.

I have a dual wielding lightning Trickster and it’s a close call between the two.

  • Crystallum will give you more DPS and stun resist.
  • Stormheart will give you a higher OA, bonus crit damage and vitality resist.

Both give you Chain Lightning, but with Stormheart it has a 10% on-attack chance, whereas with Crystallum needs a crit (100% on crit).

I personally prefer Stormheart because it gives me really high OA (gimped now due to the Judicator nerf) and it procs and crits like crazy.

Anyway, here’s a screenshot (with Time Flux Bands instead of the Judicator Signets) and the DPS and OA are with all the effects up.

P. S. Stormcaller’s Pact is important.

15% pierce resist rip

Yeah, maybe I should redistribute some of my skill points into Oak Skin.

Thanks for the replies! I’ll have to think about it then as it seems neither one is leagues ahead of the other.

Also, I’m not certain but I think you misread my second question but I mean the modifier to Savagery, not the Shaman exclusive skill.

One of the things that was tipping me to Crystallum was that it adds +2 to it whereas Stormheart adds to Static Strike.

Ah, OK, sorry. Yes, the higher, the better. Attack Speed is directly proportional to DPS and proc chance and there’s a healthy boost to physical damage and electrocute for some nasty DoT.

Sorry if i’m reviving a somewhat dead topic but I have another question that’s relevant and i decided that it would be better to ask here than make an entirely new topic.

I’de like to know if Chain Lightning from either of the two swords (with a good amount of attack speed %) is enough to cover AoE or if i should look at picking up a skill such as Storm Totem or Empowered Lightning Nova?

Since my build relies heavily on AoE and proc damage, I use Empowered Lightning Nova as my trigger for Arcane Bomb as it’s quite spammable and my build has remarkably good energy regen. Also it helps when a crowd converges on you. Empowered Lightning Nova, together with Chain Lightning and Reckless Tempest are incredibly effective at clearing large trashmobs. This is particularly useful in Crucible farming when waves of monsters come at you in large numbers.

Thanks for the quick reply once again and the info. Empowered Lightning Nova should be good enough then.

Very curious about this build. I wanted to make one at some point. How well would you say it is performing when compared to a Ultros build, be it warder elementalist or conjurer.

Hi, sorry it took a while to respond, but I was rather busy this week.

It’s a solid build, not 1st tier, but quite sturdy and can easily defeat Ultimate Loghorrean.

It doesn’t have as much paper DPS as some popular builds, but due to lots of debuff and a high OA and crits, it can quickly reduce bosses to nothing (Ultimate Loxmere Nightmage regularly butchers me, though). It also has lots of lightning based procs that can clear trashmobs quite effectively, which makes it quite efficient at farming ascendant crucible. I’ll post some skill screenshots.

It worked even better with the unnerfed Judicator signets. I’m waiting for them to apply the next hotfix to see if they are still useable. Before 1.0.0.6, I used to get a 2900+ OA
