When playing on my steam deck the game cursor becomes invisible which makes using menus and the inventory very difficult. I am able to make the cursor reappear for about 5-10 seconds if I either use the touch screen or use the steam button and touchpad to emulate mouse movement.
This seems to be an issue also for the ROG Ally and other handheld devices based on my research on reddit and the steam forums.
Note: When playing on the steam deck I get a pop up message saying that my resolution does not support controller UI. This results in the top bar of the inventory and skills menus being partially cut off. I’m not sure if that has any relevance to the cursor issue.
possibly wont be very helpful, since i can’t find the post/don’t remember the specifics
but someone posted on the discord, in regards to the Ally? (i think), it had something to do with touchpad vs using stick and/or some handheld setting in relation to that
which at the time made “sense” thinking the game game then gets “confused” not registering the input as its expecting like normal from a controller stick
Thanks for the input.
I’ve tried changing things up via steaminput with no success. I can’t speak for the Ally (I don’t have one) but, it seems more closely tied to an interaction with Big Picture mode; re: Game performs normally when launched from desktop on the Deck and the cursor doesn’t appear when launched in Big Picture on my laptop, but it’s fine with controller launched regularily on the laptop. I think the normal presentation on the deck is technically Big Picture mode under the hood.
