Have only watched a few minutes but looks good.
I want to be excited about this game but the thought of playing this still on the far future maybe even reaching 2077 diminishes hype off. I must admit it looks cool but not groundbreaking. I’d rather be hyped with FG and my fave class than this one for now:)
I want to play it, but dread it at the same time. I remember the Witcher 3 where I had enough after 80 hours and still had 100 hours to go.
Hopefully they also learn how to make proper boss fights. That has always been a serious weakpoint in their games thusfar.
that time slowing mechanic looked fun the first time, but became annoying real quick.
everything else looked promising.
Have not watched it. Don’t want to get spoiled. I will def play the game anyway. Have a lot of faith in the developers and the trailer was enough for me
I only watched the first few minutes to get a grasp of the whole gameplay. It seems a bit cliche with the slow-mo power. Additionally, it feels like a more serious approach of the game Borderlands because of the damage numbers. It’s just my opinion though, but given how CDPR delivered us Witcher, I have faith in this one it is not just some “Game-only-looks-good-in-the-trailer”.
Bladerunner on steroids
I told myself I wouldn’t watch this video because I didn’t want to judge an unfinished product.
…
Then I watched it, and now I’m judging it.
It looks like Deus Ex:HR/MD thrown atop GTA. Which is basically what I was afraid of it being when we saw the latest trailer. An open-world, flashy shooter with choices that will likely matter for one mission or open up an optional questline but otherwise will have zero impact on the rest of the gameworld. Now, to be clear, I quite enjoyed DE:HR (and MD, even despite the abrupt ending and MTXs) and always love some GTA shenanigans. Having a mix of the two is no doubt going to be very cool and enjoyable. But it’s not at all what I was hoping for from “those guys that made the best story-driven fantasy RPG of all time” when they announced they were working on a Cyberpunk title.
Watched it again.
What catched my eye most is distance render and pop-up problems (seen in driving around part) with a mix of low res textures… but it’s a WIP…and it’s a WIP. Didn’t really wanted to see Max Payne cliche slomo here, but here it is. Same with popping numbers from enemies. Once again devs are on auto pilot in this case, relying on the “It’s familiar formula, so it must be good” routine.
I’m trying to temper my expectations with any release, because sometimes even your low expectations can be far too high, but I hope and believe, this will be very good game, because besides Deus Ex there is not much else similar and good and I think they feel the burden of it.
Haha,Gotta be a super gansta shadow runner ! The world level is sick! The atmosphere is grim! Gonna pick up my old profession as a dopeass :rolleyes::rolleyes:decker.
I don’t understand why the slo-mo is a problem. They’re presenting the game as a “first person RPG”, not a FPS. Having features like the slo-mo and that one weapon with target seeking ammo serves to cut down on the shooting skill that is needed, which personally I think is a welcomed feature as someone who doesn’t like hardcore FPS gameplay but enjoys action RPG’s, and I know I am not alone on that.
slo-mo is a problem because it quickly becomes something that is used a lot. and thus becomes boring, repetitive and dull. That said I never liked such effects in Max Payne and Fear either.
And slows down the gameplay like nothing else. I don’t like it at all. It was fun for about half an hour back when Max Payne came out, but it quickly wore off.
Pretty much any game you play for more than a dozen hours will have some repetitive mechanics.
