So I think that I maybe gave Dalia the Stormheart dagger on accident, am I up a creek for getting Blazeheart? I have it on another character but cant get the third note from the Foresaken Waste so this is the second attempt at doing this quest and im feeling pretty frustrated at this point. Guess I should have read a guide and spoilers as to not screw it up…
Sounds like you mixed up some things.
There are two secret quests connected with Daila.
The first one (that requires the non-mythical Stormheart dagger):

It will grant access to the Edge of Sanity area in the Necropolis, with the Clones of John Bourbon as final boss.
The second one:

It will grant access to the “Edge of Sanity” you can find in Malmouth Outskirts. Here, you can farm Dark One’s Set and kill Lokarr.
Blazeheart has nothing to do with the secret quests. It is a reward at the end of a normal quest chain, given by Daila in Mourndale (outside of Malmouth).:

To get this quest chain, you need to find her diary near Homestead before and give it back to her.
Keep in mind, that you need to have all quest items in your inventory (not your stash) for the two secret quests.
BTW, AFAIK, you can’t give the Stormheart dagger to Daila. If you don’t have it, check your stash. If you accidently sold it, you’re unfortunately in trouble with the first secret quest. If I’m not mistaken, the Stormheart dagger is tradable. So you can get it with a second character. Or you use GD stash to give yourself a copy of it.

well maybe saying its secret isnt correct but i dont have it in my inventory and cant figure out where it went. Ive spent hours trying to figure this out to no avail.
Ive found her note and spoken to her. Went and retrieved the dagger from the vase and then returned to her. Now its gone and I dont vendor anything which is why i cant figure it out. In the case that I did i guess im screwed again… and yeah this is a new char i leveled almost specifically for this.

edit: I ended up installing GDstash and it took me about 10 min to finish the chain.
