Damage question

Hi,

I am currently level 15 on my little werewolf using a couple of the maces you get from the first guy who comes up out of the ground not far from town. They have a juicy +3 skill on them which seems to buff my damage numbers so much I can’t find any replacement for them yet with the 3k+ bleed and 600+ dps each hand. You’ll see in picture I restarted and went to veteran hoping the same guy might drop a higher level version of the mace. He did not, it has slightly different mods on it but hovering over it tells me it’ll give me a lot more dmg on either hand, however when equipped it does not. It doesn’t matter which combo of 2 I currently have with the new one it drops their damage a lot. I have attached a screen shot showing the 2 current maces equipped and hovering over the new mace to show the +dmg. I have snipped the damage from hovering over my skills.

1 : shows current
2 : shows combo with 1 old + new
3: shows other combo of old + new

I’m just really confused as to why hovering over the new one shows it’ll add damage but when equipped it drops it, quite a lot.
In the grand scheme its nothing super critical as my damage on this werewolf is absolutely insane compared to every other alt I’ve levelled to this point + his leech + his move speed + no cool down on his normal attack which has great aoe + the charge which runs through instantly killing packs of 6+ then hitting more at the end with his aoe pop BUUUUTTT I’d love to know so that I can attempt to learn for future weapon swaps and upgrades. I forgot to mention the crazy low energy cost of the wolf skills hah!

Any info that might explain that could help me would be much appreciated and could you please dumb it down for me haha!

Side note I wish skills like Aegis were on par with this guy for levelling, sheesh!

I would use any weapon that has good pierce damage, followed by a decent amount of bleeding damage if that is possible. Of course, faster the weapon, the better. Don’t forget to use a serrated spike if you have one too, or any component that boosts pierce damage. Later on in levels, look for weapons that have 100% armor piercing. All that physical damage on the weapon will be converted to pierce damage.

The Berserker is really fun and packs a hellava punch, as you have already noticed, but it is fairly squishy, just like Nightblade. I would choose a second class that can compensate that lack of toughness. Shaman or Soldier are both good. I chose Shaman, but I am theory crafting a Berserker + Soldier Werewolf build.

You don’t have too, since Feral Claws will already have life steal, but there are a few constellations that will provide additional life steal. I did that since I tend to stand in one place for too long and my reaction time is not the greatest. But that Rip and Tear is nice. It can be used defensively too since it doesn’t require a targeted mob to work. Also helps when traveling long distances too. And Leap is just too much damn fun and utility not to put 1 point in.
