I am not quite familiar enough with the game yet. What damage types complement each other if I want to cover the whole game?
Typically, right now I am building up a Necro that I would like to be a caster mostly (so vitality / poison I guess). What would be a good complement if I want to avoid the painful struggle of high-resisting mobs to my damage type?
In general, is there a guide somewhere showing the good combinations of damage types for superior cover?
Generally you’ll be better of focusing on 1 or 2 damage types and finding good resistance reductions for them.
There are 3 types of resitance reductions that you can read more about here if you want: http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?p=251347#post251347
I find this to be very helpful for understanding resist reductions.
For damage types just look at the skills you want to use, I think most builds use only 1-3 “big” attacks skills with heavy points invested because you also want support skills and passives and good investment into mastery bars.
Does it mean that no matter my damage type, I can potentially go through the game with no mobs that will be grossly more painful to kill? I am not a big fan of flying through most areas except for that one area where mobs resist me. Bad memories from D2…
Say I want a cabalist, focusing on vitality damage, would there be a zone in the game where I will struggle as if I were cycling on cottage cheese?
Btw, thanks for the spreadsheet, definitely gonna be super useful!
