ah yes my mistake.
This build is really lulzy. It doesn’t work half the time and you just get blown up, but sure enough, one-hit-kill potential is there. I did 1500 damage to a guy last night in such a short of time (no backstab/riposte).
Edit: Here’s my revised version, though: http://fextralife.com/calculator/dks3builds.html?DYKld3OqG.DYUmpmf6f.FbG7Z5Bm.N5fCdhjK.A.A.IYzb Still not sure if 2x Morion Stack, but even if they did, I like having a shield for blocking projectiles more, and BKS has the most stability for non-Great Shields…Caestus is used for parrying when you’re not on the brink of death to try to get quick kills.
awesome
if you’re not using 2x morions, would it almost be worth getting a huge sword and making use of the hyper armour to get that one big hit in for the insta kill and hope you survive the trade? (well, it could be that you get the success items even if you die at the same time? then it’s totally worth taking the trade and OHKO)
i like your build changes though. more health, so your 20% is slightly better

Grinding damn covenant items… i hate it… the drop soooo rarely from pve.
Yeah, I want to test out Morne’s Great Hammer or whatever it’s called, because I’m pretty sure its weapon art will go off even if you’re killed in the animation and it already does an assload of damage. And yeah, if you invade and die while killing the host, you do get success items.
Edit: When grinding for Covenant Items in PvE get a Covetous Gold Serpent ring. The regular version is found in the Profand Capital in Siegward’s Prison Cell.
hmmm, maybe I’ll do your build and grind for insta kill covenant items
The only problem with invading is getting your health to 20% first to get the instakill ready… you said you lose 30% from the buff, but you also said that was over time…
Yeah, I have gold serpent and the crystal rapier. item discover at 210. still takes 30+ runs per proof of concord kept…
How is the build silly low Hp build going?
I’m curious to know why you thought the animated dragon armour boss was difficult… it didn’t seem to be overly frustrating for me…it actually plays out almost identical to the dancer of boreal valley. small window to dish damage, avoid its attacks, dish damage, repeat…
i guess everyone has moved on to something new, but i am still plugging away at DS 3. Here is short vid of my farming circuit in lower Anor Londo. nets 29000 souls in about 10 min and is a fairly interesting route. i enjoy serving up to the silver knights here, though the guys with the spear gives me a hard time. Giants are an easy 3500 souls a piece with pretty much 0 risk.
If anyone is still playing DS3 maybe you could post a vid of one of your favourite farming routes…

I still play on and off. My preferred farming route is from the Grand Archive’s bonfire go up the right-side staircase and take the lift to the top. From there go up to the rooftop where 3 Ascended Winged Knights (gold fatty knights) will spawn. They’re easy to backstab and drop a lot of mats. After you kill them, just use the coiled sword fragment to teleport to back to the bonfire. With the Shield of Want and Covetous Silver Serpent Ring you can roughly average 100k souls every 10 minutes.
Yeah, this is where I farmed too. They all drop guaranteed Titanite as well (up to Chunks) so after extended farming you can basically upgrade whatever you want. Plus the Twin Axes they drop are pretty OK.
I still play as well, but mostly using a Carthus Greatsword Faith Build and once you’ve farmed the CGS you really don’t want to farm much more.
Both of you guys are well ahead of me. i will try that route when i get there.
Picking DS3 up again after a friend sent me panicked snapchats of DS1. Long story. Also, there’s supposedly the first DS3 DLC coming out in another couple months or so.
Still waiting for a Poise fix, but at least FROM has finally acknowledged that they goofed on the matter.
It’s silly.
I deleted it, ultimately, after dropping some of the gear for a friend. Maybe I’ll try it again when Poise works, as its main problem was you could just get stunned->oneshot while at low health from the quickest of weapons.
Currently going manmode with a Pontiff Knight Curved Sword. It’s really fun and satisfying to use. Its not exceptionally powerful because its stat scaling isn’t great (D/C STR/DEX) but you can really take advantage of its quickness and utility.
Now if only they’d explain what it supposedly does since they so adamantly claim it is working as intended. I guess intuitive design is overrated in FROM’s eyes
I hope poise got a change but last i heard was…
The Poise stat is currently working as intended by the developers and is not “turned off” as some have theorized. The stat works differently than in past games and is more situational, which seems to be the reason for the confusion.
Either way I’m definitely going to be playing more and finally finishing the game when my new desktop arrives in about a week.
I found out that armor (past a certain point) isn’t even being counted in PVP as well as some buffs like Sacred Oath not having any effect in PVP. The ring of steel protection, also has no effect in PVP.
For awhile I was wearing full gundyr’s armor + ring of steel protection +2 and I was still getting hit for 200+ damage by unbuffed straight swords. I was wondering wtf was going on and did a little bit of research to find out that defenses on armor, past a certain point, like 20% weren’t even being counted in PVP. I’m not playing DS3 again until they fix armor and fix poise.
Looks like we could see Dark Souls 3 DLC by the end of October.

Hopefully it includes Poise.
DLC Trailer: Ashes of Ariandel
Was playing ds3 when a friend told me about Grim Dawn, stopped playing it for a while. Went back to it last week, soooo good.
Fashion > Poise any day

Played a lot of magic or faith builds in previous games so this time i went for face hugging tactics with the astora (mini-ultra) greatsword.
3 levels short of 125 in NG+ now.
