http://store.steampowered.com/app/374320/If you lack a Steam Controller but have been considering getting one, you can get one for 40% off if you buy the Dark Souls bundle. That’s what I did; can’t wait for the controller to arrive…
Praise the sun, DS3 is much better than DS2.
Performance can be awkward at times; usually running at 80+fps but get occasional halts. Haven’t crashed yet, though.
Liking the game so far. Think I’m on my way to a pretty meta build, which will be nice. Just need to farm more DickDarkwraiths.
I’m working on a few different builds and learning the early levels of the game. so far weapon arts are pretty fun. For my newest toon i started with a herald class, because i love poking things to death but the i felt that the range of the spear was pretty short. I’m going to grab the halberd and see if that’s any better as i loved it in DKS1
Some weapons feel a little slow considering that combat is kind of faster now. also no fast roll, which i miss and again would feel great with the faster combat. I would also like bosses to have more health. the guy with the Uchigatana before firelink is an awesome fight though
My pc is not the best so in some areas i get bad fps for a minute. ohh well.
MUCH better than DKS2.
dont forget andre
ohh, let me know how the controller is when you get it please
Have you found a use for them? Because so far I have not. If so, with which weapon and where did you use it?
Rolling a meta Warrior (ignoring Luck, Warrior is the cheapest class to level your attributes to acceptable 25-35 ranges by three levels. Second cheapest being Knight). Presently using a Dark Sword+4 and the Fallen Knight’s set along with the varying Crest Shields based on the situation.
So far the most versatile one imo is with the dagger (possibly other daggers) you start with as a thief. it grants a neat quick little dash move, its nice for fishing back stabs, dodging and moving through water faster.
There are some swords (honestly dont remember the names) that have interesting weapon arts, good for clearing multiple trash undead.
one sword in particular that you find in a boss room has a weapon art that deals a ton of dmg. it reminds me of the special move from the drake sword in dks1 only better
Having slain the Deacons of the Deep (easiest boss ever, didn’t even chug an Estus), I’m now crashing fairly regularly for whatever reason. Reddit suggests moving the ‘Lighting’ setting from High to Low; I’ll try that later today, I suppose. One crash last night actually required a hard reset of my computer. Fun.
In other news, the Farron Greatsword is so baller.
ohh that sucks. luckily I have not experienced any crashes yet. then again my lighting is set to low as is. hopefully that issue can be resolved. :undecided:
I said it before but I feel bosses need more HP. from what ive seen in DKS3 they are pretty easy, however ive played all of the souls games. so that is probably just me
Farron GS is pretty fun though
Just got my halberd on my herald (poke to death build). poke, poke, swing, dead. the halberd has another weapon art I like, its like the strong attack from the chariot lance in DKS2. run and hit multiple times deals good dmg and it clears distance to your opponent while hitting nicely
Lots of people are arguing that DS1 is the best one in the franchise, Demon Souls included, so definitely get that. Honestly though, having played DS1 for literal AGES, I’m really starting to like DS3 a little more than it. Other than the crashes (which hopefully will be fixed) the game is perfect.
Status report: every boss killed except for the final boss. FUUUUUUUUUCK THE NAMELESS KING
having played DS1 for literal AGES, I’m really starting to like DS3 a little more than it.
i just started DSIII last week. i fit in a couple of hours here and there as i can, but i enjoy the vibe here even more than DS1. Demon Souls was my favour until DSIII, however that may change…
I’m finally getting to play this now too agree with all your sentiments Ceno DS2 doesn’t exist. DS3 definitely grows on you real quick!
Back to the great level design of intertwining passages.
The combat is as good as ever, and the bosses… I’m not even close to the end and I’ve been loving the differences between them all so far! even if they seem to all have 2 phases…
I was completely underwhelmed by magic though takes soooooooooo long to cast a spell to do… 100 damage !! maybe later levels… with better spells…it might… get… gud!
