Reinstall Windows or update to newest Preview Build.

What do you mean by crash? Do you get an error message or does it say that the template of the file you want to edit is missing?

If you’re missing the templates, you need to extract them using the asset manager (see guide).

If it’s something else it might be useful if you post the error.

Uhm…try window’s compatibility check (right click on .exe -> check compatibility or something like that, my system is german, don’t know how it’s called for you).

Not really got an idea of what this could be…

Tried yea :(.

go into

D:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\common\Grim Dawn_CommonRedist\vcredist\2015

or whatever your folder is
and run
vc_redist.x64.exe

if that doesn’t work run
vc_redist.x86.exe

(and close everyting else before running those)

Already tried, It’s in the OP.

The core libraries involved have changed drastically in windows 10. Elfe’s advice is probably your best bet as an attempt to use the prior libraries. Remember that while M$ will promise you the world, become emperor and a full world peace democracy all at the same time for buying their upgrades, the upgrades don’t actually work with the rest of the world for years, if ever. I’m on the cutting edge (but not the bleeding edge) of Linux updates, and I update Windows only when buying a new computer and being forced to because the manufacturer was bribed to not release drivers for older versions. Currently running Windows 8.1 and I wish I could be running 7. If you think I unreasonably hate M$, you’re half right - I worked for them, so my hate is reasonable. The internal documentation states that a BSOD is a “security feature” to prevent “unexpected loss of data upon ring access violation.” e.g. we destroy your work, because that protects your work!

Eww, Windows 7?

I love Windows 10, it’s so superior to W7/W8/W8.1

You’re not changing your OS, just telling Windows to run the application in compatibility mode so it can run.

It says in the OP I already tried that.

It now works.

Updated Windows 10 to the newest Preview Build 14332
