Deadly Aim doesnt seem to show up on my character sheet, and when i am firing a pistol it also doesnt seem to trigger from what i can tell, any help?
I procs on crit.
Dontcha suppose it should clarify that? XD
But yeah, I do agree that the description sounds a bit ambiguous.
Try looking at upheaval, then back at deadly aim… for one, like you linked it says “well placed shot… OR crit” last time i checked they are saying two different ways to proc it, and also upheaval starts off by saying “when you critically strike” XD
It needs to be changed.
I second (or third) that some item descriptions need to be a bit more descriptive about their activations.
Agreed. I usually treat the white text as random description, and the main text of the skill as the skill-relevant stuff. Take even a dual wielding skill - it says underneath the white descriptive stuff “This is a dual wielding technique” etc. So I think this kind of skill should also say explicitly “100% on activating on critical hit”.
[EDIT]: Also, some skills simply do not tell you all the details. Amaransta’s quick cut “A series of quick cuts”. How many cuts, for example? (I believe that one is 3, but it should at least say in the tooltip). This is also the case for Chilling Rounds in Inquisitor. How many shots do you fire in the “barrage”?
I agree the wording should be changed. Until I went through this thread I couldn’t figure out what in the world was causing it to trigger. Critical hits early game happen sporadically and people who start off as inquisitor are left bewildered as to how it’s triggered.
Now I know that it’s a passive skill that triggers on critical attacks.
I checked out the skills yesterday and I too found that a bit overpowered, I mean 100% chance on hit? Yeah the description did not make me think it would trigger on critical hit. (mind you I was tired)
yeah I had to double check this one too…couldn’t figure out why it was sporatic when it said 100% chance.
Simple Change:
100% Chance of activating on critical hit.
Done. I considered hopping into the editor and changing the text myself, but at this point it’s moot since I’m the only one that will see it, and I already know.
Just one of those minor things they can add to the list of “minor things to change on next patch”.
