Dealing with Aether corruption as melee?

These big green splotches deal a set percentage of your health regardless of stats, so how is a melee character suppose to deal with this?

The only way I’ve found is using a potion, and that is a very temporary solution, as often you are required to fight standing in it.

2 aether souls +mark of divinity + 2 purified salts on weapon swap.

I’ve already tried aether souls, I was looking for an actual solution, because even with them it still does chunks of health every tick.
Is the only way to deal with it really just using a health potion and running away when it stops?

What do you mean by “aether corruption”. There’s a ton of enemies which are “aether corruptions” from the common zombies across the Devil’s Crossing bridge to Theodin Marcell and Valdaran so it’s hard to give you any advice :undecided:

I think he mean green damage on the ground

the solution is: try not to stand there and fight

Usually aether zones with ground damage have safe places where you can wait for potion to come from cooldown. Also ofc circuit breakers and healing skills are helping.

Only damage absorption works on aetherfire damaging ground. That and procs on item that grant a shield of damage absorption, mainly Fiendflesh Greaves and Runeguard Greaves.

Oh, the Aetherfire ground. Well, yes then Aether resist won’t protect you as it’s untyped %life reduction damage. Only very few abilities can help (Menhir’s Bulwark comes to mind) but ultimately you can’t stand on that sort of ground, or at least not very long.

With enough ADCtH you can stand a few seconds to kill stuff but you have to GTFO as soon as there’s nothing left to life leech or you’ll die real quick.

Those patches don’t move so be smarted than the ground and fight the enemies where you want :stuck_out_tongue:

In the case of immobile stuff like Aetherial Terraformers they usually die quickly enough. If i don’t have enough ADCtH i just rush them with a move-attack (such as Blitz or Shadow Strike, now everyone can use one with medal augments), strike a few hits and move away, wait a few seconds and repeat (those enemies won’t follow you so you can recover as much as you want). Only the Herald of Flames and Herald of Destruction take more time than i can survive on Aether ground and my builds are far from fully optimized builds with legendary gear (but i tend to use as much ADCtH as i can)

Strategy for standing in fire is the same for all character types. Strategy is: don’t stand in fire.

Arcane barrier devotion power from Crab is so nice for area like Immolation. Stoneform, ascension, blast shield and Overguard reduce the damage a bit too right?
