I would like to ask if there will be other trees around the decorative trees (which I will plant) as it is the case with natural trees. or if no extra trees will grow around the trees I plant as “decorative”.
Thank you for the answer

( I plant these trees for timber, not for decoration)
Patch note says. Decorative trees do not drop seeds around them.
However the area that I made decorative trees and chopped down had some seedlings of some other tree type and regrowth happening. Possibly from before or it’s just in an area that was respawning new trees.
thank you for the information
It’s funny, was playing yesterday, built a tower where there were a huge chunk of trees. Cleared the area harvested even the sprouts and from time to time damn tree grown again on same spot, obstructing tower line of sight.
Happens in other spots, too, like the persistent spruce that keeps growing right over the storage cart at the town center. Finally was able to cut the tree down when I moved the cart to another location. I’m also not fond of the trees and thickets that grow around my crop fields after I completely cleared the area before creating the field. They block my view.
Or the forest of Maple trees that like to grow in my orchards.
I planted about 30 decorative oak trees and left them to mature for a few years. Cut them down and then a few years later noticed that oak trees were growing in the same place. Maybe it’s a bug but the decorative trees do seem to drop seeds somehow.
I hope this is not a bug and is an improvement, I haven’t seen this happening by now, but I would love it, because the regrow trees improvement does not work for me, so I need to place decoration trees to get wood…
And I haven’t seen that the number of wood increased, maybe this is a bug
we need a slider for work camps like they have for cutting down trees or getting stone. This one would be a slider for “Planting trees” for every tree you cut down. So you can plant 1 tree for every tree cut down or 2 or 5 Im really tired and starting to get finger pains in my clicker finger from planting decoration trees hundreds at a time and setting prio on them one by one lmao.
It does not happen every time so I haven’t figured out if it is random or if it is just a bug or you need to leave them growing for a certain amount of time.
Wait - trees block a tower’s line of sight??
Yup, if you pay attention, they sometimes miss on moving targets such as predators and if you care to do a test on raids, if there are thieves behind trees they will miss as well.

I think the key here is they want you to pay for the privilege of growing trees. Perhaps a better method to grow a line of trees, such as pressing the SHIFT while planting?
this can be solved simply by having the tree planter take gold as a raw material. (like, for example, the grain miller takes)
What I currently do with a city of 800 on medium map:
I scroll on the whole map with the “H” key layer and do small selections a bit everywhere so that my laborers cut only part of the trees and hopefully it regrows quickly thanks to the trees that I didn’t select.
Until now it has worked fine, I do the same thing once a year … but it’s tedious.
I do hope they come up soon with their “sustainable forestry” update. From my point of view, it would be a bit the same thing than what I’m currently doing. Cherry-picking trees everywhere on the map to optimize regrowth.
I do the same thing but I designate trees in rows. I also like to target birch trees to clear them out for the bigger trees.
I am on level 3 now and I have finally seen that trees do gegrow from work camps, with only one worker, to keep the cut down slow
But it should be far more, for each tree. or merely 80 % of them.
Trees increase ground water in a radius around them, so that may be indirectly encouraging the growth of new trees around them. That’s my theory atleast.
Yes! It’s like, if you want trees you can harvest for wood, put down Arborists!
