Ahhh okay. Thank you for answering I had a hunch about that. Gonna have to make some changes to my character now
btw I used to have SO much trouble killing Gargabol (regardless of build) and now it’s easy as pie. Killed him earlier today with this vit PB reaper and only took like 45 sec. Big tree monster go byebye
Ptiro:
In the BiS build, why Ugdenbog Leather in the pants rather than Scaled Hide?
Resists/DA?
With 1600 base armor scale hide is useless. I don`t bother with armor absorb before I have at least 2500 armor in every slot.
I remember times when u put Mutated Scales in every slot)
Let’s pretend I don’t know squat about the mechanics of it…which needs little actual pretending…
Why does 2500 per slot matter over absorb?
good times, less retarded lifereduction everywhere. T_T
Because around that point it became noticeably better.
Essentially, it’s got to do with the order of defence.
Assume you have 100% absorption:
When hit by a physical attack, the damage dealt to you will be negated by the full 100% of your armor value. Whatever get’s left over is then reduced by physical resist.
So this means that armor excels at absorbing a whole slew of small little hits, but isn’t very efficacious against big whacks.
Example 1:
I have 3000 armor, and 20% phys res.
Kuba deals 10k damage to me
(10,000 - 3000) * (100% - 20% phys res) = 7000 * 0.8 = 5600 damage
Example 2:
I have 1k armor, and 40% phys res.
Kuba deals 10k damage to me
I take 5400 damage.
As you can see, for damage spikes, stacking phys res is far more valuable than stacking armor (i.e. I have 3 times the armor value, but only half the phys res in example 1, and I still end up taking more damage).
However, my 3k armor spec will take 0 damage from all instances of physical damage equivalent/less than 3000. Whereas the converse is true for example 2.
So if you have low armor, maxing out absorption is of less value than stacking phys res.
You are kinda forgetting about very common resist reduction debuffs - every second mob can put your physical resist into negative. Also armor is great for absorbing a lot of small hits that you otherwise feel with low armor and high resist.
Thank you for the break down.

True, but you can’t exactly use components(I wish!) to increase your physical resist and stacking up to 40% physical resists is a rather tall order for something like a purifier or other masteries combination that lack skills that offer physical resist.
having no armor absorb or 100% on 2k armor is a difference of 600 armor. If a enemy deals 3K physical damage with 10% physical resists that would make a difference of:
(3000 -1400)*0,9 = 1440
(3000 -2000)*0,9 = 900
for 1440 - 900 = 540 more damage
If you multiply this with a large number of mobs surrounding you or for shotgun attacks it becomes big deal rather fast.
Nice example of wrong logic.
If enemy deal 3k dmg, its a creep. Mean, it deal no dmg at all cause its a creep that die to collaterial dmg somewhere offscreen. White/Yellow/Purple trash is irrelevant in any environement.
600 dmg taken , 600 dmg no taken. You don`t die to small hits. You never die to small hits. You die to burst, mean a big nasty nemesis hit you under a lot of debuffs that reduce your resistances /DA/slow you down/cripple your dmg reducing ADCTH efficiency etc.
Yes you can. Seal of might gives 8% phys res if you put 2 of them on.
Some pants stack up to 6% phys res. You can get phys res from devotions as well.
As for mobs, if you’re having trouble clearing them to the point where they are able to put the hurt on you, then you shouldn’t even attempt to fight the big baddies.
It was interesting to see double seal of might,I replace in my test one, with Seal of Blades.Did only 6 runs, but was not even close to dying.Ofc dont take unnecessary with double Reaper and keep moving between banner amd pillar to confused one and focused on other.
You know how many min/maxers are OA whores? I’m a phys res whore.
I am critical damage junkie:D,everybody got weakness and physical resistance is nice to have, but you can complete Crucible with 3% physical resistance(think that i saw it one of your builds)
Yeah. But it’s terrifying.
My panic button is always bound to space bar, and when I piloted that character my thumb never left it.
Yeah,I tried something like that before buff to Allagast with 3% phis(11 with Ulo) and 1.8 k armor with 92 % absorb with almost zero life steal and without knowing, that storm box debuff cant stack with itself,so no idea how I survive.

On flip side,i finally remember that have so may builds to post before FG:p
Btw whats your time on this patch ?
Not very good because I’m rusty. I usually hit around 9:30 - 10:30 depending on mutators.
But I also go 4 buffs, 0 banners.
I use banner to able to go under 8 minutes, but I am not good pilot.Still I know mechanics(big help from your thread) and at know waves.I wonder whats best class for Demonslayer, saw Trickster which is very fast and also Which Hunter is option.
