Den of the ancient - Kra’Vall: Your thought’s on this boss!!!

He’s a loghorrean skin which is a bit of a bummer to me but i’m still glad there’s

a new boss in town. Did anyone else seem to notice that Kra’Vall dies relatively

quickly though? I think a health buff would fix this if you guys noticed this too.

Besides that, i’m glad there is another boss that is quick to get to that you can

farm. But I don’t know if he drops anything special either. You get 2 loot chests

the first time you kill him and after that it’s one chest from then on out which is

yet another small bummer in my opinion since he may not be worth the time

farming.

easy. also here.

To you guys saying he’s “easy”, it would be nice if you linked the builds of your characters that can kill him easily, because if you’re playing with a fully geared god tier character that can destroy even nemeses in 10 secs or so, then ANY boss, that is not Ravager/Mog, will be easy for you, no matter what.

Depends on the build again I guess.

Fought him first time with a caster-purifier that managed ultimate old content + rogues just fine without dying a single time, but that dude almost got me killed on elite. :stuck_out_tongue:

All of his attacks seem to do a lot of phys damage. As a melee build with heavy armor, some phys res, usually lots of HP and probably a shield, he is rather easy. For more squishy caster-types on the other hand he is dangerous. Also you cant really run and kite in this enclosed space.

Edit: Voted balanced.

I mean, I ran on him with a non-finished build, 70 armor absorption, armor about 900 at level 80, no DA or other resists and I managed to lose only at max 80% HP. Yes, that was on elite, but many other bosses can oneshot such thing. Also killed him with my RNG-defense Trickster, 78% absorption, okay-ish defenses, nothing overcapped for more than 20% except for vitality, like 3% physical resist, constant 30% dodge chance (secondary stats) and 2800 DA, could easily kill him even though he could hit 90 - 99% of my HP sometimes, he basically ran out of skills all the time.

Imo, he should be buffed. Like, add some % health damage to one of his ranged skills and we’re good to go. Right now only his basic attack and lightning-cold nova deals % HP damage, and well, the nova is weak and you can manage to dodge all of his basic attacks by just moving out when he swings.

Well yes, I did kill him on my maxed out character. But the guy has no resist reduction. He’s way easier then any nemesis or rogue-like dungeon boss. Now if that is the intention, then he’s just fine.

Personally I find your statement delusional.

Most of my builds can easily defeat Nemesis and certain rogue-like dungeon bosses but this guy leaves very little room for error. (You can’t kite him except for that tiny little spot bottom right). His physical damage is insanely high.

I don’t feel he needs a buff for 2 reasons:

  1. He only drops a shoulder MI on occasion.
  2. He’s too easy to find for a secret boss.

I’d rather fight Valdaran, Moosilauke or Benn’Jhar than this guy. Specially on pet builds and ranged builds.

Only been able to kill him with a Physical DK.

He shreds my elementalist and Ritualist quite fast and easily.

To put in perspective, my elementalist can kill alkamos in around 10-15 secs.
The ritualist has 20k hp and can get over 25% LL.
So I’d say he’s Ok, maybe hard, depending on the build.

Anyway he gives horrible loot after 1st kill. (only 1 chest).

For those who find him easy, it’s obvious that, with high end build, crucible farming set-ups, you’ll find him, or any other boss easy.

But please do remember, that not everyone uses GDTH or GD Stash.
Not everyone peeks at monster’s stats and attack via templates.
And not everyone has 3000k OA/DA, all BIS gear.

I killed him twice, tried 2 other times and won’t bother again. He’s useless and can get so much more gear via alkamos/other farming zones.

I can kill him easily with my well-geared characters, but I don’t think it need a buff (at least not in damage output). I’d prefer if it remains as a farming spot even for characters without top gear/stats.

Easier than nemeses most likely, but easier than the dungeon bosses is veeery debatable as in too generalized.

Tried him yesterday with my phys/chaos s&b-witchblade on ultimate and as expected it was easier than fighting him with the purifier on elite. If you have the defenses, just stand and facetank like hes a beefier trashmob. :stuck_out_tongue:

Much squishier purifier on ultimate: MoD was put on, Tome changed for shield, several crystals were eaten and still I almost died again.

His physical-focus together with no ways to kite him means this boss is a extreme threat for characters that dont have abilities or stats/gear that allows them to just stand there and pump out the damage.

he is hard if you optimize your toons like Grava does

This again. :furious:

First of all, he was buffed in 1.0.6.1, unlike me :furious:

Given the quality of loot he’s rather hard. You compare him to kuba, alkamos, etc while the loot quality is that of three guardians, log and theodin. If you want him to be like nemesis or roguelike then demand the loot of nemesis/roguelike as well. Otherwise it doesn’t make sense.

Voted easy, because nothing is hard for Lokarr

Really? Its not in the patch notes. Didnt try him before 6.1, so what changed?

The safe hidey hole got closed. Grava found it during his last stream and Zantai shut it down as far as I know. Haven’t been in there since the latest update.

You would need to ask someone else, because I’m not a modder. I just happen to know the fact.

Personal experience is there’s now less difference between fighting him with melee build compared to ranged one.

I noticed this as well. He non-stop spawns his blizzards and whirlpools at melee range which he did not do before.

His tentacles now can proc Blizzard if you get hit by the projectiles released on all directions by said tentacles. Meaning you can get a Blizzard while facetanking Kra’Vall.

It’s a Duriel puzzle.

So the first time I tried to fight this guy from melee with my 2H elementalist in Ultimate I died in about 5 seconds. Tried to fight from ranged, that was a lot better but I got hit by some of the ice projectiles and it pretty much nuked me. Third try, I moved around a lot and shot him from ranged when I could, that was working and then… I found a special spot right near one of the loot chests that allowed me to stand and dps,t5 avoid all of the projectiles, damage Kra’Vall quite a bit and still kill all the adds

So, after discovering that trick, he died in like 5 minutes. Dropped some greens and MI shoulders.
