DEUS EX Mankind Divided - Another major disappointment of the year

When the publishers find it hurts the total income on a game they will step micro transactions back a bit.

The best way to stop it is if people stop using it. Making the code behind micro transactions, handling it and keeping it secure cost money. If they earn too little they will stop. Problem is many gamers today have problems playing a game if they find it difficult. There are even people who find the excitement in a game consisting in how fast they can finish the game rather in actually playing the game - and I am not talking about the people doing speedruns. I believe it was DOOM 3 I read about people bragging about having finished the game in less than 48 hours shortly after it came out.

I see the same happening with board games. Many board games are sold on the premise each game can be finished within say 30 - 60 minutes. It’s like the attention span has grown shorter and shorter and people want games to be easier and easier. Micro transactions makes it easier for people to finish a game in a hurry, same is with the extra we sometimes (like DEMD) get for per-ordering a game. Usually I don’t pre-order a game if it gives me extra content that gives me an edge. In the case of DEMD I pre-ordered because I found a really good offer.

What DRM goes then it started because kids made illegal copies of their games and gave to their friends. If you don’t believe me, do some research.
