Devastation Build Critique

Hi!

Mage Hunter, Level 100 (GD 1.2.1.6) - Grim Dawn Build Calculator

Looking for some critique on this build.

Its pretty glass cannon-ish, but I duo with a warlord who helps on aggro.

I was using the Arcane Storm set, but swapped the amulet for the +2 proj. to Devastation. I think its a damage boost, unsure with the conversion and -35% damage.

Thanks!

Skill allocation is bad , tons of Overcaps with killing dimishing returns , Overload is ignored huge mistake especially when for some reason Iskandras is hard capped . Devotions tree is pretty random as well . Hard capped Deadly aim doesnt worth it especially with this low OA , gear is very random as well , this conduit kills all the DPS of Devastation cause less TDM and local conversion to cold . Seal of ancestry is picked on a very rare occasions ,on a DPS class Seal of Anhilation is better. Needs serious rework , aggro in Grim dawn is tight to debuffs your friend being a Warlord doesn’t means he can carry the aggro. Wrong ring combo and wrong shoulders , you want full elemental to Aether conversion or close to full and definitely get rid off the conduit

Conduit is good, but your build is not really making the most of it. It’s main downside is the increased area. You need items to reduce the Devastation area(helmet, offhand), and those items convert the damage to elemental.

Skills are mostly fine, except for Inner Focus(should be 12) and Conversion(5-7). Word of Renewal could have less as well.

Since you’re trying to play Aether Devastation,. Elemental Exchange does basically nothing. From Overload you at least get offensive ability and aether res.

Since you’ve maxed Deadly Aim and Arcane Will and Mirror, I’d probably go for Aeon’s Hourglass. The more cooldowns you have, the better Time Dilation gets. And it gets even better if you have a lot of %CDR.

Thank you.

I found the The Spellscourge Set and the Coerced Wraith Rare giving reduced target area for Devastation, thank you.

What does the CDR reduction help with? I built around having Devastation being constantly active, so casting on CD.

Allows to reposition it more quickly.

Don’t want to start new topic. I am making similar build based on Outcast’s Secret. I’ve been farming Anasteria for hours on Ultimate, but can’t seems to get this item. Am I missing something or it’s just RNG’s bad luck?

I got it after 100 runs I think, its pretty rare

Time to !

It’s entirely random and can take some people a few runs and others a while. For me personally, it took around 25 runs total.

By the way, just because you posted here, now the item will drop. That’s just how it’s happened for several others looking for specific drops!

Got it finally after 100+ tries, Jesus.

Just a word of advice, I’d take points out of base wind devil eg and mirror/nulli to max overload. Annie’s skill needs crit (so OA) to reach its full potential. Also id invest more into mental alacrity and change gloves component to increase cast speed which is kinda low

Thanks for advice, I wanted to try max skilled wind devil. Will see how it works. As for Cast speed, I noticed too that it is kinda low, But do I really need it high, if I cast Devastation every 10 seconds?
