Basically just make a difficulty mod that ramps up the difficulty to insane level that only the cheesiest build can barely get through for those rambling, bitching, game-is-too-easy-hurr-durr crowd.
I am sick of all those thread whenever i went on to the forum to get information about the game.
Not sure why the devs would have to do it, the mod tools are released so others can make mods
For 1, it is a pretty common request and complains, so coming out with a mod will that address the request without needing to mess with the main build can be great way to show the dev support for the game. Plus, it is also a good way to get people into the modding tools with the devs themselves showing others what can be done using the tools.
I think I would rather have the devs work on the expansion than a mod for the base game.
Pretty sure this “game-is-too-easy-hurr-durr crowd” will take care of doing such mods on its own 
The point of modding is that it is community driven so devs just have to release a generic tool to make mods.
