I actually got all of these items during this run. But keep in mind, that even with Revenant, Crab/Hound, and the temp summons, they all get insta dead on Veteran. And it could still work if done in softcore and you are ok with an occasional RIP here and there. Problem is, to get all those pet bonuses on gear and devos AND 400 spirit for offhand (even with 10% reduction from armor and many items with +spirit), you become too glassy. To put things in perspective. At around level 40, a skele hero hit me for 5k damage despite having maxed out res, decent DA, shield. So, the hit, activated the turtle shell which was sitting at 2500, and burned through it, and I only survived because of high regen which was around 500-600 and somehow offset the additional crazy bleed damage (80% bleed res). If you get hit like this on a pet gear it’s a RIP. Now of course, you could say that as a pet char you are supposed to avoid getting hit, but that’s not going to be possible in 100% situations due to squishy pets. Too squishy up to level 60 ish.
Having said that, I might still try a pure pet build next run. But chances of reaching level 60 would like be slim.

I think it is possible. Monsters on Veteran only deal 15% more damage than on Normal, that difference isn’t too big. They have much more health though, fights are gonna take longer so you want your pets to last as long as possible, that’s why I farmed for affixes that make them sturdier (+% health, resists). In the end I still didn’t manage to max out all pet resists but with a big health pool they survive long enough to get the upper hand in most fights. You also want to take care of your own health pool and resists, since some of the temp pet procs require getting hit.

Give it a shot. I’d love to know your impressions. I’d like to see a legit level 30-35 grimtools link. Because I’ve tried and it felt too squishy and weak. Much bigger HP in Veteran means mobs survive long enough to be able to overwhelm your pets and oneshot you.

Okay I’ll give it a try when I find the time between playtesting FoA and no-lifing Sacred Reborn.
But not SSF since my point was that it should be possible with the items I mentioned. So I’ll transfer a Marrowband and the Hysteria relic and maybe a few other low level pet items I’ve kept around and see how it goes.

Not very fast M8. At least one full day spent farming totems and troves. And still not getting any desired drops lol
Here’s the current state. Keep in mind, I keep changing gear around quite frequently.

It only works if you invest heavily in spirit and energy regen. But after 75 I’d switch to acid purge.

BTW, speaking of incoming damage spikes. Nearly RIP just now. Got hit for 10k instantly at level 57 when clicking a beast totem. I instantly dashed away, but that didn’t save me and the hit triggered and immediately reduced to nothing the 3500 turtle shield. This is elite. All res are capped, 1k armor, almost 2k DA, none of the heroes spawned could crit me, not even with all of their debuffs combined. This would be a oneshot situation for a pet build with half the hp. I still have my death ward which didn’t get triggered, not once so far. Which is good.

Just dropped. Great item for classless regardless of the build as it offers an extra aura to assign your devo to, and we need those badly!

Acid Purge is good but you need to be tanky due to the lack of range.

True. Also need 100 ish energy regen to feel somewhat comfortable. Not easy to pull off, every item needs spirit rolls in addition energy regen both on items and devos.
Another great item at level 50

Yeah, looks like it is doable after all. It works somewhat ok from level 60, but I wouldn’t call it efficient. Requires a lot of gear optimization.

I’ve been trying to farm the empowered version of the blightshard amulet to no avail LMAO. Only now reached level 70. Skeletal Servant crits in the 50k range.

He already has. Contragor was the first one to do the HC Classless challenge SSF once we learned of its existence.
