Thormane will take a well deserved break while i write the rest of his story, which will not end until he completes the Fangs of Asterkarn content.
I still plan to optimize his build, which will likely be necessary as I am sure Asterkarn updates will bring a bunch of balance changes to gear and potentially devotions, etc.
I will indeed continue to run HC Classless builds, as it became my preferred way to play about 4 years ago when i started this challenge. I currently have 4 other HC classless runs going: (Assassin build, Hunter build, Samurai build, and Monk build). These will continue until victory or death, and more will come.
Im really excited for what Asterkarn might add to the HC classless experience! Im sure there will be a bunch of brand new classless build concepts born from the new content. Looking forward to all of it, I just love HC Classless. I cant explain it. Selecting a class now feels like enabling god mode.
Thanks brother! Yeah dude I am SO pumped for Fangs of Asterkarn and whats already been revealed, which could bring so much to the table regarding storywriting potential!
You absolutely should try it! I like to pretend its a Roguelike, and each HC Classless character is a run. Some progress saves between runs (Blueprints, etc).
I have a new challenge for you. Start a character in HC Ultimate and beat the game. This one is kind of the opposite of Classess, in that all you have to work with are your skills. So you have to make sure to squeeze maximum value from every skill point.
I recommend not using transfer stash. And absolutely no going back to previous difficulties. Blueprints are fine.
If you decide to give this a shot, do let us know.
This sounds awesome, I will absolutely give this a try! Very cool concept. Ill start a new thread for that adventure as soon as I have a chance to start it!
Yeah, to be honest anyone who puts the time in to complete this challenge is legendary player in my mind, regardless of when they did it. Its a true test of patience and devotion to the game and all its mechanics.
Congrats man, I haven’t been on the forums for a bit. I pop in to read the Grim Adventure updates.
@ContragorX is the real deal here. His, if I’m correct, was completely solo self-found. Mine wasn’t entirely. I didn’t start fresh each time I bit the dust (which was a fair amount of time especially in the mid 90s range ARGH). I didn’t have alt characters or really save any special gear or anything like that but I did get to capitalize a little better with leftover mats and stuff.
The legends that did it completely 100% solo self found are the bee’s knees.
I found your post while trying to get the badge. I ended up almost copying your build, but thanks to you I was able to complete the challenge.
I realized the superiority of provoke and counter blow.
I’d also like to thank everyone who has posted build examples in the past.
Thanks also to Zantai, it was a great opportunity to look at the microscopic aspects of Grim Dawn.
