This sounds helpful towards what I’m trying. That is, I am going for a safe tanky build, and your test does seem to confirm that Ghoul is good for that, something I tried lastnight (haven’t spec’ed out of).
This char is designed to face tank, and it does well for that design. I could face tank everything through Elite, minus a few boss mechanics I had to dodge. Even the Master of Flesh, I just tanked him until the last phase, where I had to dodge some crap.
Ok, so I’m up to 24% ADCTH and it’s starting to be respectable. Not as good as Twin Fangs, but good enough I can drop it.
Now I’m contemplating trying to stack Elemental Storm and Acid Spray. Does -resistance stack with -elemental resistance? Neither are a percent reduction.
They do not, same type and all.
Anyone else notice that a lot of the mobs which are really resistant, go down fast once nullified? I noticed the Elementalist in AoM, near the end, had some sort of buff that was either absorbing or resisting 90% of the damage. It wasn’t Mirror and even those ones with out Maiven’s had this. Once nullified, they dropped in a second.
I’m level 95 now. I’m getting close to Log. The gear is starting to even out my defenses, but I’m still about 100 OA and DA shy of where I need to be (DA is 2450, not what is shown). I had to make some uncomfortable sacrifices to get as high as I have it, but my tanking is really good now, but I know I need 100 more DA to continue to not get crit in AoM.

At some point, I will try an offensively geared out version. I have an offhand that converts fire to cold, and gives a nice damage bonus on top of it to FoI. But going offense when I can’t get the OA and DA, may not work out all that well right now, anyway. We’ll see.
I’m currently doing a similar build (probably more caster oriented than a tank, but we’ll see). I love how it plays! I was just wondering why non of you is talking about the HoG? Doesn’t that provide RR as well? I’m using it atm and it is hard to judge how useful it is, since I’m still at veteran, OFF is doing all the CC and stuff dies quickly anyway… Also I’m tempted do drop it, since Nullification, Word of Renewal, Mirror, OFF, Inquisitors Seal and RoK are difficult to handle already 
Also do you have any idea, whether greater fire blast is still viable on higher difficulties? I’m using it currently to kill of ranged mobs and use it as left hand attack. Or is 2x Haunted steel just superior?
I was thinking how to get rid of these terrible ignaffar pants and gave my purifier ugdenbog flamestrife MI. That allowed her to actually chose pants, and then also shoulders. Now she has more of everything, OA, DA, hp, most res overcapped, back to 15% adcth in the process and is not feeling complete glass any longer. Lost some %fire damage and burning duration but that is compensated by weapon having full fire damage and not aether. It might not be the level comfortable for crucible gladiator as she does not have too many cirquit breakers, but in main game she feels like a boss.
I suggst putting this in your to-do list: farm Janaxxia for the dagger. People around here are sure there is something wrong with the affix table and I’ve only seen terrible rolls myself, so that might need to wait until the next patch though.

That would be a tough one there. I will eventually try, but my pistol has a fantastic proc on it. Not only does it do a bunch of damage every second, when I crit, but I heal back 20% of it too.
I had to sacrifice my belt’s +1 arcanist, but I reached 2515 DA. I still found a boss that had a chance to crit me, so I’m still looking for more.

AS for procs. A channeling build has to be really streamlined with low interruptions. I only use Word of pain and storm box for proc purpose. Kalastor is very unreliable
I guess it comes down to skills, for me points into bwc are selling, but an arcanist wouldn’t need them and might be fine with any roll, even blank. And then the skill modifier is a half-potency warcry.
Right now devotions can be bound to ignaffar’s presense granted skill though I suspect it might be a bug.
I noticed that, on the Ignaffar’s presence. It’s an aura, but one that does outward damage. I think that last part is why it works. Retaliation, and defensive aura’s don’t allow offensive skills, but that one is offensive, so it may not be a bug.
The pistol, it’s pretty key for my healing, and does good damage to boot, so that’s a hard one to give up right now. I did give up my belt for one with both OA and DA. Now OA is near 2500, and DA is just over. I still need 100 more, but it’s getting closer.
Offensive auras with offensive devotion skills linked to them is a bug. I would dig up the Zantai quote but I’m too lazy.
Hmm…I know other offensive aura type things do. That is, the ones which do direct damage. Not ones which buff your offense. I may be wrong though.
Just got Mythical gauntlets of Ignaffar off of Log. It’s a huge DPS boost, but has 60ish less OA than my others. Now I need to find another slot to sacrifice.
I am seeing the light though. I’m looking for stat sticks. Items with massive resists, HP, OA and DA. Place them in slots which I have lesser quality gear, and make do.
Craft yellow boots if you have alredy dropped the recipe. You get one good pair per 5 mil iron coins .
I’ll look into that. The boots are typically a weak slot. Shoulders, and belts are often as well and I don’t have a good medal either.
Can anyone explain this to me. My greatest damage dealt is listed at 17k, yet I routinely see 24K and up to 28K crits on my screen.
