Devotion procs on pet builds

Hey there
I was wondering about devotion procs on pet builds.
Specifically the ones with “chance when hit” trigger condition, for example Ishtak

We can bind the proc to an aura. The aura affects pets. Does that mean that now the devotion can proc when that pet gets hit?

Or is it always the character hit?

If it’s latter, considering that some such procs provide offensive bonuses to pets, would mean that the optimal piloting would be charging in head first to take some damage to trigget the procs so that summons would deal more damage.

Could anyone confirm / deny this is the case?

Another question similar to this: Some devotions have %chance to proc on attack and can be bound to curse of frailty. Again, does it mean that any hit against cursed enemy can trigger the proc, or the fact of casting the curse triggers the proc?

Thanks in advance

For the first question, it’s on character hit. As to piloting, to me it really depends on what content you’re playing and how sturdy your defenses are. Like if you’re speedrunning SR, the procs are going to be triggering often as you zip from pack to pack.

Second question, although CoF doesn’t inflict any damage it still “ticks” for the length of its duration so it can trigger certain devotions beyond the initial cast. You can test this yourself on a test dummy in town.
