I pose the question in the title because I have an old GD Stash that I updated to the latest version and re-imported from the Expak game. While rummaging through some of the items I came across a Bloodsworn Scepter that has Werewolf affix on it. I also have a level 12 Frostborn Scepter of Corrosion that has a Wereraven affix on it. I hit up Grim Tools DB and found that “Frostborn” is an item prefix.
Is there some documented list of these kinds of modifications? The don’t think the v1.3.0.0 patch notes post ( Grim Dawn Version v1.3.0.0 + Hotfixes ) lists these kinds of changes since doing a search of that post for “Frostborn” does not yield hits.
I want to be clear that I’m not complaining or upset by these modifications. It means some of my older stuff might be useful while leveling.
They altered items. Whether they pre-existed or not doesn’t really matter, as now any copy of such an item will have relevant +skill levels (e.g. the wildcaller’s cowl is an early example of such an item).
1.3 was a patch to the existing game so it didn’t contain Fangs of Asterkarn content. In FoA itself there are lots of changes to pre-existing items to add Berserker support. It would suck if that were not the case, really.
Actually, for noob like myself, it does matter. As I stated in my OP, it means some of my older stuff might be useful while leveling. I don’t have any super awesome endgame gear. However, if I did have super awesome endgame gear, in my old stash, it is quite possible that some of that gear has been altered to include benefits for the Berserker class.
As Toxophilix explained, 1.3 featured engine upgrades accompanied by balance changes that affect non-expansion owners, however there is not a list of what the expansion itself changes because…well, that would be quite a lot of info.
Yup. That’s cool too. It gives old items a chance at a second life vs. being constant vendor trash or on a mule collecting dust. Eye of Reckoning Werewolf build? YES PLEASE!!!
