I played the absolute crap out of Grim Dawn back in late December and January. I ran three characters (a summoner, a DEE lock, and a 2h Warden) up to 85 and through Ultimate. As I leveled all three, I always played on Veteran for the extra challenge. Of course, it was noticeably more difficult than normal, but I still plowed through it pretty quick and didn’t find it particularly tough.
I just came back to the game and decided I wanted to make a character with either Nightblade or Demolitionist as the main class. I’ve worked up three characters to 30 or so, but man, it seems so much tougher than I remember. Don’t get me wrong… I’m happy about it, I love a good challenge. I’m just wondering, am I super rusty, or did they seriously ramp up the difficulty of the game. I haven’t played since mid February, so I’m sure there have been a number of changes over the past 3 months. Are these classes just much weaker in the beginning than the ones I already tried? I’m purposefully not twinking any gear… basically pretending I’ve never played before (although I do have all the formulas… can’t change that).
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar that took a multi-month break and are giving it another go.
