This weekend I lost my level 71 hardcore conjurer in the Burn the Womb Quest. I am a little befuddled regarding how it happened. I killed everything in the womb (including the boss that resurrected 3 times at least). I also hit the switch that started the womb burning. So after all that I was simply exploring the womb and when out of nowhere I get a single message: You are dead. I never saw anything attack and no monster was visible. Does anyone know how my conjurere died? Thanks!
Maybe you stepped into some Aether ground (that deals damage). It’s in the boss room on the sides.
If this was the case, maybe turn on Health Bar over character’s head next time, this way you’ll notice HP drop quicker.
if you were here (Theodin boss room) left and right side is aether fire floors that do static x% health penalty

That must of been it. I should have been paying better attention but my conjurer was so well built that I was often rather bored rolling through areas where my minions just destroyed everything. Boredom - the silent killer. No worries, I am working on a spell breaker where staying alive will require 100 percent attention. Thanks for responding.
Is there a combat log in Grim Dawn?
Sometimes I blink and I am instakilled and I am back in town and ‘most of the time’ I have to do the long walk of shame back to my gravestone because I wasn’t alert enough to drop a portal. Granted it’s softcore and the experience points loss is easy enough to recover, but it would be helpful to know what mob or in the case of a boss or hero mob, what spell/ability/damage type/amount of damage killed me.
I love this game, especially since it’s offline, but I can’t justify playing hardcore and I usually bounce back and forth between softcore and hardcore in games that have that option. I don’t know, maybe I am a glutton for punishment, but there is a certain allure to playing a hardcore character, even online with bad latency issues.
