I tried end of act 1 and it is very easy (except for Krieg who is quite long - I can do it but I die several times).
Beginning of act 2 is ok, but once I reache the Cronleys areas, it is a chore. I have to drink tons of potions, heroes are a pain.
I’m there at 59, and encountered a violet lvl 65 (enraged) bull and other heroes are in red.
So I guess that I’m there at a lower level than I should, but I’m also quite sure my gear (especially resists) are not on par either.
So 2 questions:
is level 59 at Cronleys supposedly ok ?
and, more importantly, what’s the best to farm gear ? Do act 1 over and over (too easy, but only fun for some time), Crucible, insist in act 2 (too hard and not fun at all …).
Can you post a grimcalc of what you have at level 59 and a picture of your char1 sheet? That would help me help you
In elite things are high level than you that’s just how it is, your level is fine/standard.
You shouldn’t really need to farm for gear, but grind up some faction rep is your best bet to find decent gear. Other stuff is too random unless you just want to find random pieces with good resists, can kinda farm wherever then
The game scales to your level within a certain range. So if you are in a “lv50 to lv75 area” (or whatever the numbers actually are) it doesn’t matter if you are lv55 or lv70, the enemies will always be just a bit above you. So don’t worry about that. Only a select few areas have such a high minimum level that you can be truly underleveled for them.
In elite, you should not get stuck and have to farm gear. You should be able to play through with whatever you find, and that also applies to ultimate to a certain degree. Only the hardest (not the main story) bosses in the game do you need to be super refined with good gear for.
It’s possible you are having difficulty because you are not adding components or augments to your gear. It sounds like your main problem is taking too much damage, which basically always means a problem with your resistances. Take a look at my guide and see if it helps
Pumping up your pierce resist and allocating a few points into wendigo totem temporarily (especially if you’re lacking on adcth) will probably get you through act 2. It’ll slash the damage you’re taking and give you some life sustain outside of potions. It’s worth looking at yellows/greens and vendor gear to flesh out your resists as you level through elite.
I’m a bit late on this one.
I must say I was quite cold down by the game due to this difficulty wall so I went to other games.
I already read Goat’s guide (thank you for this) and in the meantime I came accross the build compendium and especially the Star seeker one from Zars.
It has very details advices on augments and components.
I did not know we could have both augments and components …
Additionally I did not spend my attributes points yet, so I added around 40-50 points in physique. I still can’t catch why a kind of caster must spend points in physique rathen than the primary ones (cunning & spirit).
I’m not very comfortable with that.
So I spent around 1 hour upgrading my stuff and now I could break this wall and go to Darius which I could kill with not much issue.
Boris became feasible down from impossible.
I tried again Krieg and while I could feel he was much easier, he was more difficult than Darius.
(Strange act 1 boss is more difficult than act 2 one, no ?).
Anyway thanks all for the answers, help, guides and so on.
I can now progress … until the next wall
