Is there currently a way in game to dismiss soldiers on a granular level? I know there was prior to the combat update, but I cannot find that option anywhere now that we are in 0.9.2. Right now its an all-or-nothing disbandment (you either get all the soldiers or none of the soldiers). I may be mistaken, but I recall from reading the posts leading up to 0.9.2 that disbanding soldiers was supposed to be both - either one at a time or all at once.
As it stands I would like to keep just enough soldiers to get my gold balance in the green but not so few that I don’t have something to respond to threats ad hoc. For now I will continue to sell the shoes off my feet to meet the cost of having a standing army.
I would like to add to this discussion that I think disbanding one or all soldiers should return their equipment to stock, or at least leave the equipment in their inventory so they can take it to a storage building. I just disbanded the whole flock before reading this to see how I can disband just the guy with the fewest arrows and discovered they all lost their weapons and arrows.
Better yet, don’t. Let it expire naturally. That way, other players who run into the same problem can use the answer provided instead of asking it again.
