Do plains map have animals to hunt?
Yes, but maybe not as many as you’d find on other maps. It also depends on which difficulty you choose. Vanquisher has less.

Thank you, another map that sucks. No clay in Alpine and no hunting in plains. Both very problematic!

Clay does exist in Alpine, it’s just not all that much, like at the most 5 clay pits on the average selectable starting area on large maps, usually less.

Not all maps will have the same amounts of resources or even all resources.

Isn’t the point of city builders to solve problems? I only played on plains so far, and the only “problematic” things so far were lack of sand and iron which i had to import.

Very true, and am learning this game and have yet to figure how to use the trading system. For the clay shortage I expected to be able to buy but the cost was 6000 gold. How do I get that amount of gold in early game? More to learn.
My point was to state that there was a problem and I have to solve it some how. I do not want an easy game. I have found a Alpine map that had clay but hunting sucks. Seems the peeps do not like having just fish. 
Yea, i checked out the maps a bit, you can get clay in the alps but it seems you will be in a simmilar spot as with hunting on plains, its going to be pretty far off from your town.
The gold thing tho, yea buying large quantities early on is absolutely not viable. Same with my town where i had 0 steel production, but a few bars every year in the starting years end up being enough. And when you upgrade the trade post if you have multiple industries producing more than you need, it seems to be quite easy to get 2k+ gold or more per yearly visit. Then again you will have to often purchase a lot from the merchants considering their gold is also limited.

I recommend lakes map to start. Worst case you have lots of fish. Good to get started. Then once you learn a bit of how the game works it’s easier to deal with other maps.
