I’ve just had a bunch of soldiers die from cholera (despite having a well in decent walking distance). I can’t tell if their weapons and armour disappeared with their deaths. I understand that they do when they die in battle (let’s assume they get destroyed) but it seems very unfair and silly for items to be lost to a non-infectious disease.
Cholera comes from having too much waste in Shelters and from Rats, not lack of access to Wells
Agreed, if lost, that waste would not feel very balanced.
The cholera tooltip only mentions wells (lack access to clean safe water) as the problem…
“Access to clean water” also includes the water in the shelters they are assigned to, and if those shelters are also full of waste, then there you go, Cholera time.
Unless your wells are near any of your Compost Yards?
The problem is that Soldiers, Foragers, Hunters, and Fishermen NEVER stock their own shelters. They use their workplace as their real shelter.
All the houses have access to wells and no they’re not anywhere near compost yards. I’m not here to litigate why they got cholera, can we stick to the actual question please.
I am not sure, but I think yes. I have noticed that if a mounted soldier dies of disease their horse seems to die with them. Which seems a bit unfair on the horse. Any soldier that gets sick in my town is kicked out of the military.
