EDIT: Only vote YAY! if you actually use Ulzuin’s Chosen.
Just wanted to see everybody’s opinion about this skill…
I personally think it’s not worth it and will probably never bother to go for it, unless changes are made, and by changes, I don’t mean just turning it on an exclusive skill.
I always wondered how cdr thingy works. Is it a chance to reset the skill I just casted, i.e. double grenado occasionally? Or will triggering it with grenado reset canister bomb and stun jacks too?
I guess it’s the first, otherwise this thread wouldn’t exist :undecided:
Yes for a skill that only supports three skills on the Demo mastery, plus Grenado and Stun Jacks have low cooldowns, so you can just use Fire Strike with Brimstone and other skills until the cooldown is done.
EDIT: The only skill that would actually benefit from the CDR is Canister Bomb, but then you’d have to ask yourself:
Is it really worth to go for 50/50 for a passive that will only trully benefit a single skill 1/4 of the time?
I haven’t tried it but I don’t really like the %chance for cooldown reduction affix even on items. Its like you get used to timing your cooldowns with the gear you have so you’ll probably just miss the benefit anyway on the off chance it happens.
If they’re trying to promote grenadier type play it needs something better – allow 2 to be thrown in rapid succession before the timer begins or something. That way you can really blanket a room with the effects before you dive in.
Either way the mastery needs some more love at the top end.
To max out Grenado you need to invest a whopping 40 points if you were to take Ulzuin’s Chosen on top of that you’re looking at 50 points on one skill. Most people ignore Skyfire Grenado not just because of the conversion mechanic but because the investment on one nuke is too high. Given that the skill can be negated by an incoming projectiles and has no other properties except damage it’s my least favourite skill in the demo tree.
Canister Bomb on the other hand is a bigger AoE nuke and can be paired with many other skills for big damage. I made a sorcerer some time ago which used UC+CB, it was surprisingly effective and a lot of fun. UC is usable but not really compatible with every build.
I don’t see the point, honestly. It’s much too restrictive. The cooldown chance should apply the Cocktail and the Flashbang too, and the damage modifiers should apply to all skills.
