Do you want more expansions of Grim Dawn?

More content is always good.

After playing a lot of POE and D3 it would be great if they could focus on some type of randomised endgame content other that the crucible.

Crucible is good, especially for testing builds and such, but some expansive random maps would be great.

Of course, there still some classes missing like archmage, death marked and vanguard.

I think Grim Dawn would benefit from some types of new content: new items, new constellations with a slightly increased devotion cap, new areas and new enemies.

In my opinion, the best way to incorporate all these changes would be by adding a number of new roguelike dungeons. I think it would be pretty cool if each of the factions we can be enemies with got its own roguelike - Cronley, Kymon’s Chosen, Order of Death’s Vigil, Anasteria, Barrowholm, Aetherial Vanguard. Maybe add another Chthonian themed also.

I don’t think they should raise the level cap or add new masteries. It would be best if they saved the ideas for new masteries for Grim Dawn 2, in 5-7 years from now. That game should have a new engine, and even more build options than there are now (maybe by having more skills per class). Also, Grim Dawn 2 should have some kind of serious endgame, in my opinion (e.g. what Path of Exile did with its latest expansion, where they basically added a story element to the map system, is superb). But I definitely think Grim Dawn 2 should remain in the same universe as Grim Dawn, and in the same time period (I saw people advocating for a prequel - I disagree with that because it would turn the game into another medieval-like rpg, and we have enough of those).

EDIT: Another thing that would be a very good addition to Grim Dawn are updated visual effects! There is a large number of complete damage conversions without a corresponding change in the effect color; it would be really great if that could be improved. Also, a dual-wield wps without an animation for both weapons.

Yep. Curse us at the start though to send us back a few levels, the goal and drive then being to ‘get mah power’ back!

(havnt read through the thread so idk if someone has said something similar)

I honestly don’t want more expansions. The more acts you add, the higher you need to raise the level cap. Higher level cap = more skill points/attributes, possibly new devotion points. Over saturating the game with skill points hurts build diversity as eventually you can just take all the skills/devotions you could possibly want instead of having to make the tough choices. Another act like AoM, and youd need to boost the level cap by another 10 probably. If the devs give 1 more point per level instead of 2 like currently, that’s still 10 more points which is enough to max out a skill (with +skill gear)

I feel the game has a good length as it is. As much as I wish the story was more fleshed out and continued, it would hurt end game builds more than anything imo. There’s a point where everything becomes too similar in terms of skill choices if you give tons of skill points.

I dont want to know how the story ends because I dont want it to end; I want the story to continue
So yes I want more expansions
I hope Crate will continue to develop Cairn and the lore and expand the game’s content. Also maybe come up with end-game activities that involve some kind of advancements or progress that incentivize end-game play but avoid the level cap inflation issues mentioned by Ceno and others

I agree with most people that I wouldn’t want more of the same, but…

… something different and new, much like the PoE Ascension expansion in which each basic class could attempt to earn a one-off perk that is modifiable over time by performing some task. Another interesting option would be having additional content allow us to obtain something like y more skill points, where y is something close to x, and the first mastery points in each class after the first cost x points to unlock, where x is greater than 1 and less, say, than 10, so that after choosing your first class, opening up a new class and investing in the first 1 mastery point on the mastery bar would cost x skill points; but after having performed the Expansion Task, one could potentially invest into a third mastery (which would, of course, also cost x points to unlock).

[QUOTE=medea fleecestealer;594375] While I’d love to see more GD gaming, adding yet another expansion may be too much. It’s already long to play through and given Crate’s tendency to give us way more content than they originally planned it may be an expansion too far. Might be better to make it as GD2 giving us a continuation of the storyline, but with completely new masteries to try out (no carryover of the old ones) and giving them the option of then expanding that game.

I voted ‘No’ simply because I feel the expanded game is as long as it needs to be from a gameplay point of view (though a couple more masteries would be nice).

I would very much prefer the story to continue in a sequel rather than an extra 30 hours gameplay on top of the existing game.

I must confess I am curious to see the new non ARPG game as well - though I understand these are not mutually exclusive from a development perspective.
