Does anyone use Life Leech ?

And when I say Life Leech, I mean Life Leech, not ADctH.

I know some constellations give a little Life Leech damage and a little bonus to Life Leech damage. But I didn’t took much time to start simply ignore it as there is not much difference between being there or not.
And since I started ignoring the stat easily found on constellations – often on the way to useful ADctH – I absolutely don’t know if it can also be found on gear.

So, I have a few questions:

  • has anyone tried to use this type of damage in a build?
  • is there any way to make it useful as a viable alternative to the usual sustain methods?
  • what do you think would be needed to make it become useable?
  • is it used by monsters?

I’m a bit confused by the Life Leech. I don’t really see the point to have it in the game as it can’t be used and there is also ADctH which to quite the same thing but in an effective way.
Wouldn’t be simpler to have it just removed?

I’m also a bit confused by Energy Leech/Burn, which is not really more present in game but is a bit more complexe and has a lot more potential, so I keep it for another time.

The upcoming Necromancer mastery might solve this lack of Life Leech issue hopefully

I don’t think only one mastery would allow to make a proper use of an ignored type of damages.

were probably more likely to see vitality decay featured more in another mastery than life leech. There aren’t a ton of items or devotions that touch life leech.

The entangling vines spell modifier adds some life leech to the vines spell in the shaman mastery, but that’s the only one that jumps out off the top of my head.

It is possible they could convert the %dmg converted to health on something like phantasmal blades to life leech, but that would be a significant nerf at this point.

It is a little…odd, how GD has Life Leech and ADCTH. It’s also kinda odd how everything is an attack for some things, but not others. A proc that says “On Critical Attack” can go off from everything…But it seems that ADCTH is only for Weapon Damage, not All Attacks.

There’s a distinct lack of clarity as to what exactly is a spell in Grim Dawn, if anything. Shrug. I don’t do many caster builds, and those I do don’t use ADCTH or Leech to sustain, so…I haven’t needed to look into it much yet.
