DoT build with Procs

Been suffering from Alt-ism. lol I have been thinking about a DoT build that utilizes different procs from items.

How is Blood Pox + Word of Pain? The damage type are completely different but are there items that support mainly Elemental and Vitality/Acid?

My other combo choice is Inquisitor (Aura of Conviction) + Nightblade (Night’s Chill + Blade Spirit). The only problem is this is a PoAoE build and I just don’t know if I have the survival to stand close.

In fact, how do most builds survive without health leech? My Drain Essence is level 96 now. I feel this build Drainer is overpowered. lol

If you’re going pox/WoP, dual-wield Decrees of Malmouth to turn the bulk of your elemental damage into vitality. From there you can go with the Radaggan set, which would compliment that playstyle nicely.

Speaking of Vit > Elemental conversion, two pretty easy to find items are off-hand word of inquisitor abalon and Blazeseer rings (vit > fire)

You also have these armors, but you need to farm them to get good affixes

Oh. cool. That’s one thing that I find this game confusing is changing damage type into another type. lol

OK. So there are ways to convert Elemental to Vitality. Good. I find Vitality is the easiest to stack up.

Great for softening or destroying crowds and spreading gear/devotion procs throughout them. Both have useful debuffs as well.

On their own, you won’t see fast Boss kills though. Procs like Meteor Shower, Elemental Seeker, Cataclysm, Elemental Balance etc. will help in this area and as Pox/Word are fire-and-forget skills, you can kite while they and your procs do the work for you. Being able to apply/stack slow isn’t a bad idea either.

In fact, how do most builds survive without health leech?

Kiting while your DoTs or debuffs kills stuff for you.

I am looking at Relics. Oh boy, they seem to be time consuming to craft but they are interchangable between characters right?

So, my Drainer is level 96 now. I want to craft Impurity but don’t have the recipe yet.

Are Mythical relics all superior than Transcendant? Because I was looking at Deathchills and that aura looks good!

Yes they take some time to craft, so aim for a few mythical and craft the ones needed to make them and use them meanwhile.

Which relic is the best is very subjective and dependent on build. But in general. It is a very good idea to go for a relic that gives +1 to your skills.

Here is a budget build I am gonna do a little guide for once the new expansion is out

You can shop the weapon at the vendor in Ancient Grove (and farm it from the boss) and the amulet is a faction blueprint.
The only required item is the off-hand (or the ring or chest that I wrote down in the post above)
The medal you can also farm, we just need the item. Any good combo of affixes is a bonus.

pants, belt, gloves and boots are wildcards. Take stuff that gives plenty of defensive stats (boots are faction boots here)

It clears pretty quick, but single bosses can take some while.

The elemental seekers have 100% chance to go off with 1 second cooldown so you get pretty many of them quickly

What’s this “completion bonus” under Relic? They are all random? I see Impurity has +1 to Drain Essence.

Completion bonuses get rolled/chosen randomly when a relic is crafted.

As Evil Baka wrote, they are choosen on random upon crafting. Thus you need to craft a few to have completion bonuses to choose from. Which can be a pain in the butt considering all the small steps it takes to craft such mythical relic

https://www.grimtools.com/db/items/8216

Impurity have these completion bonuses:

+1 to Drain Essence
+1 to Ravenous Earth

+1 to Bone Harvest
+1 to Siphon Souls

+1 to Harbinger of Souls
+1 to Spectral Binding

+1 to Summon Blight Fiend
+1 to Raise Skeletons

+1 to Spectral Binding
+1 to Bone Harvest

+1 to Reap Spirit
+1 to Raise Skeletons

+1 to Reaping Strike
+1 to Necrotic Edge

+1 to Siphon Souls
+1 to Ravenous Earth

+1 to Master of Death
+1 to Ill Omen

+1 to Drain Essence
+1 to Reap Spirit

10 different combos.

That means that if you are interested in 1 special, you need to craft 30 of them to be 95% certain from a statistical point of view to get that 1 bonus you are interested in :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh… the +1 Drain Essence bonus would be very good. Yikes. A lot of grinding!! lol
