Some buildings, like the sawmill, have double green arrows coming out two sides of the building. What does that mean? Is there a gameplay significance to this? I can’t find an explanation anywhere.
I think that means that EITHER side of the Building can be connected to a road. Although, Buildings do not have to be connected to roads to allow them to function.
The ‘Front’ of the building facing the road, which appears to be what the green arrows represent, is peculiar:
For residences, it is Purely Decorative: roads seem to be completely unnecessary for any residence.
For Production Buildings, access to a road seems to only make an appreciable difference if the distance to resources, storage facilities or destination (market, etc) is Long. For short distances, having a road, a cobbled road, or no road doesn’t seem to make much difference at all.
I confess, I started playing being very concerned about providing road access to every green arrow on every building, and have only slowly come to realize how much I was wasting my time!
