Double "Sockets" in 2H weapons [with poll]

Multiple components into 2H not feasible?

Ok, how about Potent components? They can even be made craftable so that they won’t clutter stash.

How about defensive components for 2H only, similar to how there are components for shields only?

How about potent augments giving much needed %conversion?

How about (some) potent augments not having a penalty on defensive bonuses compared to two non-potent versions?

How about attack speed pentalty being less severe so Kraken could be nerfed to actually become a choice, not a necessity?

How about transmuters for skills that give better %weapon damage for 2H weapons (yes, looking at you Fire Strike)?

I mean double components/augments would be damn amazing, but if that’s hard to implement - it’s not the dead end.

Not to call him out on it (even though I’m about to), but I once asked Rhis (on-stream) how hard he thought it’d be to allow two components on 2H items. He thought it was easily doable but would be a design decision on whether to implement it or not.

But overcoming designers is the greatest hurdle of them all.

2h Weapons are seeing some love in the upcoming V1.0.1.0, with a DPS increase and a buff to all 2h Augments to be equivalent (or superior) to two 1H Augments.

There are no plans to introduce 2 Components for 2h weapons, or to introduce an entire new series of Components just for 2h weapons.

So there will be patches before expansion? That’s surprising.

They have to patch the game to accept the expansion :wink:

Conversion would still be an issue, unless you introduce conversion to 2h augments as well, or simply just more base conversion on 2h weapons

I really hope this involves relevant physical conversion added to potent augments :undecided:

Don’t need 2 sockets since the rifle or two handed sword will be double the damage thanks to new weapon they are adding. Don’t want super OP weapon

This is just great news because I have just started my first 2H melee toon and I am enjoying it so far.

Or just, y’know, make it so that 2-Handed weapons BY DEFAULT get double the bonuses from a single component.

That seems the most elegant solution, if we are going to go there.

Just out of irrational fear that Crate somehow forgets this I would like it to be on the top of “Ideas and Feedback” section, preferably stickied untill we get a solution.

Why aren’t there plans to do exactly that? Why jump through all the balance gymnastics to balance augments, tweak their dps, add entire devotions, etc, when the logical solution is to just do the obvious thing and make them equal in # of components. I realize the components not the only difference between 2H and DW builds but its a large glaring difference that gets a lot of attention.
