Downgrade mythical items

Would it be possible and balanced to add in a feature to downgrade mythical items to empowered or their base item, particularly for blues? I get somewhat frustrated that none of the blue level 94 items I find get used, whereas I would love to be able to use them while leveling other characters.

Why not just challenge yourself to use only blue items in the game? Then you can use them.

Because the game is challenging enough when I can’t even complete the game on ultimate.

I must be the only one that thinks Grim Dawn is a really easy game.

If you want to downgrade items, download a program like GD Stash and remove the mythical version and add your empowered one.

“Bleeding in general. I feel kinda butthurt”

Why do you have to show off your e-peen all the time dude?

It’s easy if and only if you have the experience and the mechanics down pat.

Having a large item pool also helps tremendously.

@timbre: Welcome to the forums!

I’m guessing you’re a new player? If so, think of level 94 epic items as a useful tool used to acquire better purples.

In addition, there are a few blues which are used over and over again in many builds.

The m. cursebearer ring, elemental balance set, empowered essence of beronath, tempest sigil, eastern set, just to name a few.

I really want option to downgrade mythical legendary items to common legendary items (especially for gloves)

@sir spanksalot Thank you for the welcome! I actually have a fair few hours on GD but apparently never got the hang on farming enough legendaries to get a complete build working. However I was blessed with some luck in getting a mythical Mindwarp in BoC yesterday, which feels like I more than doubled my damage.

I don’t actually want to cheat items with a program like GDstash (I do use Item Assistant though). It just feels like a shame that it feels hard to gear while leveling, whereas at 94 all of a sudden you can equip whatever purples you have and skip a lot of the blue items.

Do you have a build which can run crucy 100-150 buffed/bannered? (Do you have the crucible add-on?)

If so, that’s a pretty great way to go.

If not, I’d do dungeon runs over and over again. SoT is the easiest and also allows you to farm alkamos; BoC is great but hard on the eyes, and the one in ugdenbog (can’t remember the name) is the quickest.

It is easy to get items anyway in Grim Dawn (compared to lets’s say Diablo II).
It is easy to cap resistances due to augments.
and so on.
Now you guys want it even easier? Come on

(compared to lets’s say Diablo II).

Apples and oranges, bro.

Besides, most players aren’t as dedicated as the veterans. Hell. My cheatingGDstashing butt is nowhere close to being as dedicated as you, and you’re new to the game. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think people have every right to ask for what they want. Whether or not it’s fair to actually grant them their requests is another question altogether.

I wish I could show you my 100% legit item stash and builds in Diablo II, you would get rock hard in your pants! I know many Diablo II players got completely turned off by the ~doubled rune drops in patch 1.13, and still to this day play 1.07 or 1.09 patch

ARPGs should be (according to me) time consuming and reflect IRL - you can be lucky yes, but most of the time, you have to work hard for progress!

I thought I was gonna miss teleport in GD, but nah, the drop rates are so high so it is a nice compensation.

Of course one can ask whatever they want, but there are other similar games to GD where it is even easier to attain viable endgame builds (Diablo III cough) with minimal effort.

Not disagreeing with you at all. Everyone enjoys arpg their own way.

I personally have used all my patience IRL, and just want to have fun with the game. And for me, personally, farming just doesn’t cut it.

Well for me, if there are no modern ARPGs that have a large part of grinds, I just go back to D2 - there are still 6 items that I have not found yet :stuck_out_tongue:

And fun is what you make it, even after 17-18y playing D2, over 50 completed Matriarchs/Patriarchs, I still enjoy starting a new char with a twist like only wear this kind of item, only use level 1-18 skills, single pass play, and so on  An ARPG is truly great if players can enjoy the beginning and the mid game aswell, and not just the gladiator crucible 150-170 things…

Maybe I’ll get to that level 15 more years down the road down. :stuck_out_tongue:

I got crucible a few days ago. I just tried gladiator 100-150 but died on 150 with Valdaran, Fabius and Moosilauken. Couldn’t do anything to survive haha, I found it pretty stressful. I think I’ll keep doing the dungeons for now!
