Drain Essence - LMB?

Hi guys,

Apologies if someone else has mentioned this; I did do a search to try to find out but couldn’t see anything…

Just a small a qualm. I was just wondering if Drain Essence skill could be added to LMB attack? I am currently running with a Cabalist, and loving it, but it would be even more awesome if Drain Essence was on my LMB and Curse of Frailty could be on my RMB. I was hoping it might have been added in the most recent update but it wasn’t.

Or, is there a reason that I’m not aware of, as to why it’s not able to be on the LMB? Cheers guys, love the work!

I think it’s more to do with Channeling spell behavior.
It’s the same with FoI and AAR, I think if it was mapped to your LMB you’d run into a tone of movement issues cos it doesn’t require a target to case, so you’d just spend half of your time just YOLO casting it at the ground and chests and stuff.

There are some spells that shouldn’t be able to be placed on LMB, like devouring swarm which can’t break containers or orbs and just leaves you spamming them with flies…

Yeah, that makes perfect sense, thanks.

I think my hope was that it could possibly require a target, as its my primary attack method with the Necro, and having DE and CoF on the mouse together would have been great, but it’s definitely not a game breaker.

Thanks for quick reply mate!

Their reasoning is that Drain Essence is ground targeted, so they felt that if they let you put it on the LMB, you’d not be able to move, as you’d immediately cast. Of course they could have made it so you always move unless targeting a mob or holding down the shift button. But apparently that is how their engine behaves, so they don’t let you put these ground targeted skills on the LMB.

Ok no worries, thanks for helping me understand guys. Will continue the way I’m playing now and not worry about it anymore!

Edit: not that I was ‘worried’ but you know what I mean

Yeah, it’s the channel. I had this when I was playing http://automatenspielex.com/kostenlos-spiele and it would bother me so much I had to do something
