i was looking through dreegs eye skills and when looking on youtube i noticed that most builds don’t use Focused Gaze.
i was wondering if it doesn’t stack with blood burst cause that is the only reason i could think not to add it (since it’s 1 pt). if the AoE’s do stack then the combination of the 2 skills would make a major difference in AoE (missing out on 5 meter radius increase).
while looking on youtube i noticed that most builds which don’t use it have a bursting animation that isn’t that accurate.
from what i can tell Blood burst adds a second explosion to the initial cast that deals some extra damage based on the points in it (including %weapon damage). while Focused gaze is a larger AoE skill that does flat % damage increase (50% poison/ acid and crit damage) but has a longer cooldown (doesn’t make much difference since its a DoT it needs time to work and leaves time for other skills).
Focused Gaze adds a 4 seconds cooldown on that skill, and the skill, if maxed, is used as primary attack, and therefore must be without or with very low (under 1 sec) cool down.
If you want it as a secondary skill, like a huge burst of damage every few seconds, you can pick that up, but your DPS will go down if you have no effective primary attacks.
Primary attack is basically something that increases your DPS drastically for every hit, like Cadence, Bloody Pox, Albrecht Aether Ray etc.
Focused Gaze is primarily used for Damage over time builds a.k.a Poison focused builds. It’s extremely potent.
Builds that don’t use it are likely to be either Acid or Vitality focused casters where Poison or Vitality Decay are secondary damage types. The focus o these builds is to spam Dreeg’s Evil Eye
