as a lvl 100 char in Ultimate Tomb of the Heretic i just got a lvl 94 Korvan Helm dropped with a of Vitality suffix, to my surprise the health stats seemed “low”
so i checked GT and it would require lvl 70 affix version (again even skipping lvl 84 version) to be that low, i then confirmed it with GDstash after that suffix was indeed rolled lvl 70
made me wonder if it’s similar situation we had before like with shields?/certain other slots that accidentally hadn’t enabled the higher level affix versions, just an unintended glitch or fluke spawn
edit. i checked a bunch of helmets in my stash and most of them had lvl 70 vitality suffix, but there was a some with lvl 90 so doesn’t seem fully excluded
interestingly enough, none of them had the lvl 80 suffix version
I don’t get why even on lv100 you still get below-max affixes and item levels of MIs. Really kills the fun imo when you get perfect affixes on an MI just for it to be a lv84 item
lvl 84 MI can happen in some cases where enemy doesn’t reach whatever level was set for it’s next loot table, so like lvl 100-105 might carry 50/50 lvl 84 and 94 MI and first at lvl 106 does it get 100% 94, but that enemy doesn’t scale that high, or the enemy needs to be lvl 110 etc
but why i’m getting lvl 70 suffix at max level i’ve no clue, let alone why it’s then even skipping closest lower level at 80 @_@ - also why i’ve got like a 60% ratio of lvl 70 vitality suffix on 94 items vs 90, (0 at 80 still)
Some items seem to be set completely randomly, some seem to be manually adjusted. I always bring up these two, and I will keep bringing them up whenever this is being discussed. Here comes a level 98 Voldrak for comparison:
The incosistency of level 84 vs 94 drops is one of my main gripes with this game. Need an MI from an enemy that never scales high enough to eliminate level 84? Enjoy half of your drops being inferior.
I still think it’d be great to eliminate level 84 drops at character level 100 completely. Then hitting 100 would at least have a point. The massive inconsistency irks me and the only way to find out is checking Grim Tools.
It is unintuitive, unfun, annoying and I’m really surprised it’s still in the game. Either have it as a rule that everything can always drop both 84 and 94, or have everything drop just 94. The current mess is the worst of both.
Yep. Gotta pass that additional 50% check (if your’re lucky and it’s actually 50/50 and not some random arbitrary numbers). Careful though, does not apply to all items, only some of them, selected on the basis of whatever/no idea (just check GrimTools scrub, lol).
Yep, gotta check the base armor value (or damage for weapons), not level requirement as affixes have levels too. Level requirement is not a clear indicator.
There are also a couple Rare affixes that make an item require level 95.
Oh yeah. Never bothered checking the magic ones, but a quick look at the merchant indeed shows the final medal is 95. Strange that it is the only item in the game to have that.
