Pros

  • Pure Arcanist skills playable and survive.
  • No more energy hunger problem.
  • Can facetanking almost every bosses.
  • Laser beam?

Cons

  • Energy requires a lots at endgame. Need energy regen to get over 310/sec and high energy base. This requires endgame Augments.
  • Aether ray is more visible at higher level because of Energy issue.

Character Stats

Attribute , 1:1 Physique:Spirit until 35 physique then all spirit. Aether Ray dps 51k dps + Devastation 29k dps .

Core skills & Gameplay

Mirror Of Ereoctes
This is your life saver. Maximum level is 12, there is no more cooldown reduction after 12.

Olexra’s Flash Freeze
I have been using it since lv 2 and 120 hours with it. Great aoe cc with 5 sec freeze plus 38% slow for 5 seconds. It actually save me more than Mirror.

Albrecht’s Aether Ray
The core skill of Arcanist. 1 point at lv 50 and max llevel 26when full set gear. Its a mana hunger skill.

Devastation
Maxing this skill is a must combo with Olexra -118% fire resistance. Faster clearing mobs and hit& run when needed. Get max to 26.

Maiven’s Sphere of Protection
This skill is helpful when you reach elite mode and up. You will most likely die with certain boss not getting enough gear for + 3 skill effects from gears. Try to dodge boss skills.

Wendigo Totem
This totem is the key for our tanking purpose. Ideally get it to level 15 because it will give you 1% more to hp regen per second. At lv 12, it’s 5% + 550 hp . At 15, 6% + 680 at level 85.

Gaze of Beronath
Granted by items. I feel like it really lowing mobs and boss dps overall. Make me quite tanky a bit.

Summon Briarthorn
Only 20k hp but with Totem. It can tank quite almost every bosses and block projectiles for you.

Skills Rotation
Mobs: Freeze-> Totem-> Devastation -> Aether ray -> Freeze
Boss: Totem-> Devastation -> Aether ray -> Gaze

Gears and Items - Updating

Another new set that can make you tankier: Iskandra’s set
Golemborn Weaves
Wrath of the ascendant
Im still in proces fiding the last piece of Iskandra, I will update later.

Main hand: Clairvoyant’s Wand
Off-hand: Empowered Crushing will - Alternative : Aldanar’s Vanity
Head: Clairvoyant’s Hat
Chest: Clairvoyant’s Robe
Leg: WraithBorne Legwraps
Shoulders: Clairvoyant’s Mantle
Hand: Aethereach
Feet: Wraithwalkers - Alternative: Empowered Boots of Unseeing Swiftness
Belt: Tinker’s Ingenuity
Amulet: The Peerless Eye of Beronath - Alternative: Avatar of Mercy
Ring-left: Screams of the Aether
Ring-right: Empowered Aetherlord’s Signet
Medal: Mark of Fierce Resolve
Relic: Agrivix’s Malice - Alternative: Haunt

Why Clairvoyant set? isn’t it for warlock? True but it greatly help with Shaman skills. It has + 2 all skills for all important skills we need as shaman path , especially Wendigo Totem. A huge boost in both defense and offense. 1 more important thing is that Clairvoyant skill which help bursting mana regen for 15 more second for Aether Ray casting!

The main point of this build is to get max level Aether ray and Devastation with survivability. Tinker’s Ingenuity help with bleeding and poison resistance because we want to run around the world and kill different type of enemy.

The Peerless Eye of Beronath Give everything we need for both Shaman & Arcanist , also a damage reduction to boss. Avatar of Mercy I used this one some circumstances. The undead nemesis has a 3 sec freeze skill, I most likely to be dead when it froze me. It also great if you not willing to get risk and die when bossing.

Empowered Boots of Unseeing Swiftness This is my favorite, it will help you travel much faster if you plan to farm. It can combo with Olexra’s Freeze without losing the 23% movement buff, also put Haunt relic on because Agrivix’s Malice proc chance is like 100% , you will lose the effect. When reach to boss, simply switch to WraithWalkers and u have 5 sec invincible to boss.

Devotion

  3. Oklaine’s Lantern

  5. Scale of Ulcama - Life steal for survivability
  6. Viper
  7. Behemonth ( 4 points )- More % hp and heal regen skill.
  8. Targo the builder ( 4 points ) - More % hp

  10. Ulo the Keepers of the water - More % resistance

Augments:
Feel free to balance your resist and damage

Well, that’s it. If you have any suggestions , just let me know how to improve. This is my first char and second time running Boc ultimate, also first time Undead Nemesis. The skill effects is a bit laggy in video so sorry about that.

Happy beaming!

Glad to see AAR is not completely neglected yet, it’s such a cool skill.

May i suggest you go for Solemn watcher + Obelisk, your DA is abysmal. It slows you down significantly in your runs, you constantly need to back off. If you plan to run a char with less than 2k DA in ultimate, you better have a damn good reason (i.e., you better be a pure summoner or something).

Tbh, your advice for stat distribution is horrible, you need a lot more physique. Inner focus already lets you equip everything and no matter how many points you have in spirit, you will never be able to sustain AAR indefinitely (which is not a problem because you have the skill from the Clairvoyant set). Low armor and DA does not work well with under 10k health.

Have you tried 3 pieces from Iskandra (shoulder, book, chest)? 20% physical resist is huge, and works great together with the Briarthorn aura, it may significantly improve your survivability in BoC and vs Fabius without lowering your DPS.

I will try Ikandra set pieces. The problem is I always ran out of energy even with 320 energy/sec. The low energy base also contributes. It actually slow me down when farming everything because I have to wait every 30 seconds to get my energy back . That’s why I bump all Attribute to Spirit to get more energy regen. At the time when I was at 290 energy/sec without clairvoyant. It was such a frustrating experiences when you keep running around waiting for energy to regen.

Hey I’m interested in this build but im a newbie so bear with me. First off, the first 4 leveling process grimcalc pages are blank, and I was wondering if I could see them? Second, maxing imp and scholarly light with 1 point in eldritch crossroads only gives 8 eldritch, which isnt enough to start leveling magi or lantern. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I was in a rush and not checking entire post. Fixed now. You build scholar of Light and Hawk then Build Magi and Latern . LAter take out Scholar of light and Hawk.

I’m building the new set and see if it make druid tankier. Iskandra’s set is rare and popular though.

healing totem with ranged build, how does that work ? you melee cast things? oh its a softcore lol. anything is viable there

This is a great looking build and really interesting. What I really want to commend you on though is what a great looking guide, I love the colours and how easy it was to read, I also love the little spell pictures… all guides should use this as a template, great job!

I will work thing out on HC when done testing the most optimize for the build. Took me 2min to kill fabius kiting around . Not really compare to build that kill him in 30-50 sec but playable.

You need AAR for bosses only, and you will regenerate mana between them. With maxed Devastation and Aldanar’s vanity, you can clear out rooms of white/yellow mobs easily without wasting mana on AAR.

Remove the aether component from your weapon because it’s useless and put a riftstone, then just blink onto bosses, totem, AAR for 3 sec, dead, repeat. Once you are tanky enough to completely ignore white mobs, you won’t have to waste mana on killing them.

I respeced my Calidor’s guy (Sorcerer, but same concept) to AAR after the patch and replaced Agrivix with Necrosis, runs BoC under 10 min easily without much tweaking. I use Valor legs and Golemborn boots for extra survivability (something you can’t do without maxing physique), combined with Solemn watcher and Obelisk devotions. Pretty much impossible to die, even vs Fabius/Shar’Zul and AAR melts them.

Thanks for the advices. The wrathstone really speed thing up. I can pretty much run boc under 10 min now . btw, how long for you to kill fabius? I can kinda tank fabius with max bleed and piercing resists, just dodge his critical skills.

Fabius is a complete chump if you can stack 2000+ DA and 1300+ armor (speaking of which, put Scaled hides into your shoulder and pants!!!), unless he spawns with some ridiculous weapon. The only Tyrant’s rare sword of the rifthound I ever found was taken from his cold, dead hands, but that fight cost me 4-5 deaths on my fully geared 13k health blademaster.

I didn’t do any Fabius runs with the AAR setup, but with calidor/devastation it takes under 30 sec. This was with massive regen and health from ToL and Behemoth, which have now been nerfed.

Thanks for this. Been waiting for someone to come up with a Druid build to play with.
