[Druid] Shall I invest on Arcanist Mastery ?

Hello,

I’m currently playing a lvl60 lightning melee Druid in Elite Act2.
I’m not having too much of a difficulty for now while still dying if I rush too much which suits me fine.

Most of my skill points were spent in Chaman.
At the moment, I have only spent 15 points in Arcanist Mastery with a few points here and there (3 in Arcane Will, 3 in Maiven’s Sphere, 1 in Mirror of Ereoctes, 1 in Iskandra Elemental Exchange+Overload).

Except if you tell me I have missed a critical skill I don’t intend for now to spend any more point in Arcanist Tree for now (maybe I’ll raise Maiven’s Sphere at some point).

My question is, shall I invest in the Arcanist Mastery Bar ?
Will I need those points later on (in Ultimate) ? Or should I keep focusing on skills ?
One of my main concern is Cunning. I have only ~320 points which give me a quite low OA. Doesn’t feel too much of an issue right now but will it be later on ?

Thanks for your feedback.

Hello all,

Even if i did not receive any answer last time, let’s try with another question

I’m now in A2, Ultimate, lvl 79 and everything is going well. I’m satisfied with my build, I know it’s not OP or anything close to it, but I’m having fun which is all that matter to me.

The question is, I have no idea what to do with my last skill points. I have 4 waiting and another 12 till lvl 85 but I’m not sure where the best place would be.

In terms of damage, Brute Force, Stormcaller’s Pact or Iskandra Elemental Exchange will give me a few more DPS but nothing extraordinary.
Lastly I went to tenacity of the Boar, but my Cunning and OA are so low (~275/1300) that it doesn’t change much, I’m still 0% chance of critical hit anyway.
I could put some mastery points in Arcanist, to gain a few HP.

Or maybe I’m missing a critical skill, or a skill that should go to ultimate level (ex: should i max wind devil ?).

Your advice would be appreciated.

Note : I don’t want to change already spent skill points. I’m happy with my build, I just want advice on the best way to spend my last skill points (even I could remove a point or two if needed).

Thank you !

Oh I nearly forgot : GrimCalc

Max Inner Focus for 10% OA and 25% Spirit

Yeah max inner focus 100%, max maiven’s, take the good one point wonders. Not sure if you can afford it without gear bonuses, but max out elemental balance for more crit damage and some electrocution bonus too. I like going up to 32 just for the extra mastery bar stats and a few points in conversion

edit: Max stormcaller’s pact asap. I would take take 4 out of window and 4 out of maelstrom and get it maxed. I don’t think oak skin is worth maxing

Thanks for your answers.

Let’s max Inner Focus and Stormcaller Pact then !

@TomoDak : I won’t have enough SP to do everything, even if I do remove a few points here and there.
For OakSkin, I maxed it for pierce resistance. I’m a bit short in this area for now. I’ll lower it later on if I find bette gear.

No need for Blood Pact in this build

Maxing Inner Focus is a definite must for the 10% OA, but with only 1300ish OA now, that is probably only going to add 100-130ish (depending on how many other +OA% sources you have). I know you’re asking about what skills to change, but you might want to also look at your devotion set up and a huge source of OA is gearing… The + crit damage from stormcallers pack and Elemental balance isn’t going to do jack if your OA is too low and you can’t crit to begin with…

Tendency of the boar and Inner Focus are the only skills (unless Grim calc is missing it on a skill right now) that will boost your OA. You will get 3 points of cunning for each Arcanist mastery point you spend and each point of cunning is 0.5 OA. So even if you max the Arcanist mastery you’ll be gaining a base of (3350.5=) 52.5 OA. You probably can accomplish that by switching a piece of gear or two out…or even modifying your devotions… Testing out some gear changes/devotion switches is less risky as you can’t respect mastery points…

@Garfunkel > Blood pact is only for extra life leech not for DPS.

@Scote> Yep low Cunning/OA si why I’ve not spent much in Inner Focus and StormCaller Pact.
How much OA is needed to have a decent critical chance on Bosses and Heroes ?

I don’t really need much more DPS on trash mob, I’m already clearing area fast enough. So critical would only be for Bosses. I guess that means a lot more OA ?

Well you should definitely invest in inner focus as it will help your OA and any source of flat OA will also be increased by it. Until you get a decent OA, you could probably wait on StormCaller Pact.

I’m not an expert on what OA = a good crit %… I did look at my Warder last night after fighting Valdaran in elite. With about 1900 OA my chance to crit was 14%, I think. So in Ultimate, I would assume you’ll want at least 2000… again, I haven’t looked into OA levels much so someone else can probably answer that question better than I.

There are a lot of constellations that can help with OA too, might be useful to post your devotion setup and ask for suggests as well.
