Dual dagger effects question

I like the skill Ravenous Earth. I found two Daggers that each give -0.4s cool-down and +2s duration. If I choose Nightblade to dual wield, do I get double the effects ?? like -0.8s cd and +4s duration?

Yes.

Abbie is one of my favorite actress, btw

It is better to use an off-hand and pick a second mastery that supports vitality damage very well. Occultist is very strongly recommended for this. Dark One…

Also, some math: (3-0.9)*0.16 = 0.336, which is close enough to 0.4. You do lose the duration bonus, but IMHO it’s not a big deal. CDR is more important.

Ok. I am just curious if this game allows you to stack “special bonuses”. I don’t want to pick Nightblade and can’t change it later.

I do see Occultist and Shaman having good synergy. I just hate the CD and want to reduce it. lol

Any other way to reduce cool-down more?

Any other ways to reduce cool-down on Ravenous? Is this -0.4s the best I can find in the game?

Is it possible to use Ravenous as the main attack? I read some threads and most people combo it with Blood Pox spamming while RE is recharging.

Yeah, Basilisk Crest, another -0.5 s CDR. RE can be the main attack but should be supplemented with Pox, SoC, and Siphon Souls.

Better use Bone Harvest as your main attack, huge AoE and dmg output. And you can life steal with it. RE for offhand.

Not true. Best Dark One RE builds always dual wield. Either bonespikes or pandemics or (imo best) both. No off-hand setup for RE is even close except Valguur ritualist.

I really want RE to be the main attack and maybe use some utility skills here and there. How do I survive when RE is doing the damage? I see Necromancer has a toggle that allows Attack Damage health leeching. Does it work with RE?

Another newbie question is some “green” items have special bonus like -0.4s CD on RE. Are these Green items all very random? I ask this because I got two Bonespikes and both of them have +Vitality damage which fits RE. It’s not like a random green (magical item?) with some random specific skill bonuses.

Both of my Bonespikes are level 24. Are there higher level ones?

I am still trying to figure out the difference between Green and Blue items. Blue items seem to have more Procs skills.

Is there a list of Green item with specific skill bonuses that I can see? Maybe I can design a build based on those items?

Bone Harvest has 3s cd as well?

Oh, I guess you’re talking about this. Yeah that makes a lot of sense. Weird he didn’t go for Acid Spray though.

Life stealing is not possible with RE.

Some greens are “MI” or Monster Infrequent with built-in bonuses. You can search through all available items here:

Oh yeah. I read about MI items. What is Monster Infrequent items? Certain monsters would drop them?

MIs like the bonespike you mentioned (the dagger with the 2 skill modifiers for ravenous earth) drop off specfic monsters.

some of them can only drop from one single boss monster, others are more common and drop from a wider variety of monsters. the bone spikes are from the trog mages in the underground levels around homestead IIRC.

MIs have specific preset stats similar to blue and purple items but also get 1-2 magic or rare affixes like the yellow/green items on top of the fixed base stats.

so for some builds they can be extraordinarily powerful if the base stats fit the build and you get lucky and find an item that also has good random affixes on top of the base stats.

there are usually multiple versions of the base item for different levels. the highest level bone spike is a level 94 version of the dagger you found. it has the same cooldown/duration bonus as the low level version you found, but has much higher bonus damage. i think 200% vitality & decay bonus on the base item (plus the chance to have an affix + suffix that add even more)

you don’t actually have to become a nightblade just to dual wield bonespikes. there are a few items in the game that allow you to dual wield melee weapons without the nightblade mastery. easiest to obtain is a relic which (i think) is from one of the faction vendors, so you’re pretty much guaranteed to get it if you just invest a little time to farm the required reputation and the mats.

so you wouldn’t have to pick NB mastery just to dual wield the daggers - craft that bladesword talisman and use dual bonespikes.
