As you can see the only way for non-nightblade’s to be slot effective and achieve dual wielding is through Blademaster’s Talisman.
Yes, 2 other choices are equippable as well, however neither is slot effective for the great majority of builds and tend to be, specifically, just to be able to dual wield. Which leaves us with having to run Blademaster’s Talisman quite often, even when better fitting relic choices are available.
Can we get more dual wield enabling items for non-nightblade classes?
PS - Nifty idea friend suggested, give Badge of Mastery the possibility of enabling dual wield through its affixes.
I think I will second this post. I am lacking option for DW melee if not nightblade for endgame builds.
DW ranged is OK, I think, some nice weapons are giving that option.
Are there any one handed melee weapons that grant the skill to dual wield? I know there are a few pistols that have this property, but can’t recall any melee weapons that do.
I’ve played a few games that had dual-wield magic work similar to dual-wield melee: a build that uses dual-wield magic weapons would have stronger magic skills. I would love to see a medal that’s much more caster-oriented; it’d be great for those who want to use magic more offensively but doesn’t want to give up the HP + defenses necessary to equip an off-hand. Not to mention that there are multiple scepters that would work much better being equipped together dual-wielded than to give up one for an off-hand that’s not nearly as good as the weapon.
As for Badge of Mastery, I’m more hoping it’s used to reduce the Spirit requirements of off-hands, and I’d rather it have that ability than use it to allow dual-wielding. It’s already too nuts trying to make the perfect skill bonus prefix/suffix combo, and I don’t want to force builds to use this item and create that dastardly crafting casino.
I feel like offhands provide plenty of survivability in their own way. Many offhands do give HP/DA bonuses. Furthermore, many help to complete sets which in turn give further survivability (e.g. Iskandra’s).
Last, but definitely not least, CDR is a very important and oft overlooked means of defense. Lowering the downtime of mirror, or that of Dreeg’s blood can be beyond invaluable.
That being said, I do suppose being able to DW 2x magic weapons (or funnier yet, 2x offhands) would add more versatility to an already diverse game.
It’s not overlooked. It’s one of the three best ways of defense in crucible, along with super high DA and immense shield/def procs focus. It’s just that in main campaign, you don’t really need any of those for your defenses so CDR is just usually used for offense there.
On to the topic: I agree that we need another way to dual-wield, especially for casters. Being locked to direwolf crest (cause relic is too important) sucks for casters cause the WPS is virtually useless.
