I am also a noobie going with this build for my first character.
To get to Dying God, you go:
Red > Ghoul, refund Red, Quill, Purple, Rhowan’s crown. Refund Purple, get Viper > Solael as suggested. Then, Scholar’s Light (candle) > Hawk > Torch > Lizard > Sailor’s Guide > Eel > Dying God
Eel is the key here. The only thing I am having the trouble of getting a definitive answer to is whether having the overcapped Run Speed is beneficial. Either way, you get some extra DA out of the bargain.
The other option I was thinking was to skip Lizard and Eel, take full Magi and the last two points into Torch for the extra Fire/Burning damage, put two points into Sailor’s Guide for the Slow Resist, four into Hydra for the Slow Resist, and one into Empty Throne for the Stun Resist.
Unlikely. Aside from a few chars to prepare for expansion and an oathkeeper which i just wanna powerlevel to get to endgame easily, I won’t be levelling again. It’s the most tedious part of the game for me.
You don’t need to go through every little bit of stats. The overcapped run speed isn’t really anything big, tho you can think of it as a bit of extra slow res since it’s still added back when you’re slowed. It’s also fine if you don’t go for dying god. Devotion pathings aren’t really set in stone. This guide is meant to be a general pathway for those who don’t know shit. You seem like the type who already read a lot, so feel free to make changes based on your own experience.
Would be a decent beginner guide if you were to also explain why to pick few things, easy to understand from someones point if they played arpgs in the first place but for someone who didnt this guide is a shit show. You’re explaining how you could go both routes and decide to give a player a option but later ditch the idea of guiding on what to pick afterwards (in this case fire version), also giving half ass explanation on a alternative is pointless, best to just ditch it all together and focus on one build all together instead of offering a second route which isnt even completed with full explenation. Dont know why this is listed as Begginer guide in Build compendium as this certantly isnt one.
That’s your opinion and you think what you think. I just like to say a few things.
This wasn’t the sort of guide where I already finished everything before posting it here. Because of that, there have been a lot of changes from my origilan inteded setup to what’s written in there now, the whole lightning thing being the most significant one. Writing quality significantly drops if you just wing it, so I can see why you’re saying this is bad.
As for needing additional explanations for everything, you can always just ask here. It’s why you’re able to reply to the thread. I couldn’t possibly cover everything given how big the thread already is (and was intended to be before I discontinued it) and how little time I have for the game atm.
2h ranged Firestrike has a fucking faction item as it’s BiS Weapon.
So what’s the name of the rifle/gun? Sorry for the dumb question, but complete NOOB here. I was looking to do a fire strike build as the play-style looks pretty fun, but being new, limited on play time, and knowing nothing about the game. I was looking to do the 2H variant as farming 2 pistols is beyond my play time capabilities to enjoy the build. Thanks in advance for any help.
i really liked that project but got quite anoyed with the pistols. As i’ve seen that someone mentioned that 2 h rifle i can craft, i really would like to try that one out. I guess i have to change the build up? Just take Kraken?
Would be awesome if someone could point me into the right direction.
thx again <3
love the community in this game, and finaly did ding 100 on another char .
Hey, i try this build right now but the fire version
I have to say its reeeeeeaaaly confusing at the time when you split your guide into fire and lightning.
expacially for the devotion part. You wrote:
Devotions:You’ll have 28 points by the end of Act 4 if you got all shrines. For Lightning After Redcrossroad > Fiend, refund Red, get Quill, Blue, Eel, Widow, refund Eel, get purple, Rhowan’s Crown, refund purple, get Hawk, Viper. You have 1 point extra which should be used to get reds to rush Ultos. Ghoul is good for less refunding while Jackal gets you to Ultos faster, but you’ll have to refund it later for Ghoul. For fire after red>ghoul, refund red, get quill, purple, rhowan’s crown. Refund purple, get viper, solael, you’ll have 5 points extra to work on meteors. I recommend completing ghoul to get the proc earlier and level it up cause you’ll want it endgame.
You dont say what to do with fiend devotion or … just everything. should i respecc my devotion points and start with red into ghoul and the rest ??
i am really confused where to put my devotion after your first Guide Step from where you tell me that i go ASAP to Fiend and then Hawk, Viper etc.
Okay, so here’s the thing. The build wasn’t finished when I wrote the things. At part 1 I had like 6 devotion points, and what’s in there was a “plan” on what to do afterwards. But then as I was playing I changed my mind on what the order of constellations I wanted to get, because why not?
Btw, I’m sorry for this bit, cause the part where it states after red>ghoul, refund red… There’s a typo. It should be red>fiend, refund red then continue as stated.
Seriously, I never expected the order of how you get devotions to be a big deal. Or maybe it’s just me who just wing it and mostly just looked into the tier 3 devotions where what’s before that could always change.
Thanks for the guide. I’ve just reinstalled GD, after lightly playing a little last year. Was just wondering if you have some advice regarding stuff like which factions to side with / blacksmiths etc? thanks!
